We Recovered Over N13bn Diverted Funds In September 2024 – ICPC

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) said it recovered over ₦13 billion diverted public funds in the month September 2024 alone. The Chairman of the commission, Musa Aliyu, disclosed this during the launch of the commission’s 2024-2028 strategic action plan in Abuja on Wednesday, he  emphasized that the anti-corruption agency has been working relentlessly to fulfil its mandate. In his words, “Over the past year, the ICPC has made significant progress in discharging its mandate; for example, we recovered over ₦13 billion in diverted public funds in September 2024 alone. This is just one of the many ways we have worked tirelessly to fulfil our mandate". TinCan Customs Hands Over 341.025kg of Seized Drugs to NDLEA

TinCan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) yesterday, handed over 341.025kg of seized drugs to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The drugs, concealed in 3 different containers consists of a total of 684 packets of  Cannabis Indica with a street value of N682, 050,000.00, (six hundred and eighty two million, fifty thousand naira) only. This was revealed by the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command, Comptroller Dera Nnadi mni, while speaking to newsmen at the handing over ceremony held at the command's headquarters in TinCan Lagos. According to the Controller, the details of the seizures are as follows: "CONTAINER NUMBER MSMU 518030/2 (1X40FT) A joint 100% physical examination was conducted on 2 Aug 2024 and the examination revealed 77 packets of Cannabis Indica weighing 38.5kg. The Tin Can Island, Lagos Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Monday reaffirmed the prioritization of the wellbeing of Importers, Exporters Customs Brokers, freight forwarders and other stakeholders operating within the command. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) headed by Bashir Adewale Adeniyi as the Comptroller General (CGC) has demonstrated an exceptional and outstanding performance at the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS Cybersecurity Hackathon 2024 by securing the top position in the competition. KLT Customs Hands Over Seized Cannabis Indica To NDLEA

The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT)  Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)  has handed over seized cannabis indica weighing 51.25kg worth N256, 250,000 to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The seizure, according to the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the command, Comptroller Joy Eghosa Edelduok  was made possible through policy trust of collaboration, consolidation and innovation of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR .   The CAC stated this in her speech at the handing over ceremony held at the command's headquarters in Kirikiri yesterday the 18th September 2024.
