NIMASA DG FELICITATES MUSLIM FAITHFUL ON EID el-FITR

Nigerian Shippers Council Directs Shipping Lines To Halt New Tariff Hike‎‎

The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), has directed shipping lines and their respective agencies to suspend the implementation of the recently approved tariffs. ‎ ‎The country's ports economic regulator gave this directive in a press release issued by the management of the Nigeria Shippers Council yesterday, Friday 20th 2026 mandating all affected operators  to revert to, and apply strictly, the tariff regime that was in force immediately prior to the said increase. ‎The statement reads in full.  ‎"The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), in the exercise of its statutory mandate as the economic regulator of the port and shipping sector, hereby directs all shipping lines and their respective agencies to immediately suspend the implementation of the recently approved tariffs. ‎ ‎ This directive is issued pursuant to ongoing engagements with critical stakeholders and in response to substantive concerns raised regarding the timing, structure, and potential impact of the said tarif...

‎Seme Area Command Welcomes Comptroller A. L. Kaila, As New Controller

Zone 'A' Customs Visits NDLEA, Alake Of Egba land To Boost Anti-Drug War In Ogun

Ogun 1 Customs Intercept 19th-Century Artefacts, Seize Contraband Worth ₦1.35bn in Idiroko‎

‎The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Idiroko Area Command, has intercepted two rare 19th-century artefacts and a cache of prohibited items with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦1.35 billion. ‎ ‎The Acting Area Controlle of the command, Deputy Comptroller Olukayode Afeni, disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the command headquarters in Idiroko, Ogun. ‎ ‎ Giving account of the seizures, Afeni said the interception was part of intensified anti-smuggling operations along the Nigeria–Benin Republic border.   He explained that the recovered artefacts are of significant historical and cultural importance to Nigeria. ‎ ‎According to him, the artefacts were subjected to expert evaluation before being handed over to the National Museum in Abeokuta for preservation. ‎ ‎He however  noted that efforts are ongoing to recover more Nigerian artefacts taken out of the country in the past, stressing that such recoveries restore national pride. ‎ ‎The acting Controller reiterate...

CUSTOMS FOU ZONE ‘B’ CRACKS DOWN ON SMUGGLERS OF ENDANGERED SPECIES, INTERCEPTS LIVE PANGOLINE

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘B’, has intercepted two live pangolins being illegally transported along the Kano–Jigawa axis.  ‎The interception occurred on 12 March 2026 at about 10:00 hours. Operatives of the Unit, during a stop-and-search operation, flagged down the vehicle as part of a proactive enforcement sweep.  ‎ ‎ The seizure was effected pursuant to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), an international agreement that prohibits trade threatening the survival of wild species.  ‎ ‎Upon interception, the animals were secured in appropriate cages and conveyed to the FOU Zone ‘B’ headquarters in Kaduna. Customs Intercepts 13 Containers of Unwholesome Import Worth N6.81b at Apapa Port  ‎

A concerned Nigerian citizen based in the United States of America has frowned at the idea of Nigerian schools travelling abroad for excursions despite the economic situation of the country and the fact that Nigerian children have not finished learning the various culture and traditions domicil in Nigeria.
