T he Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), in collaboration with the National Single Window (NSW) Secretariat, commenced the maritime manifest submission phase of the National Single Window project with a sensitisation programme for Customs officers, shipping lines, Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders and other maritime stakeholders. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has received global recognition as its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Customs Cares, won the Commonwealth Environment and CSR Gold Award in Glasgow, Scotland on Friday, 31 July 2026. The Port & Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has begun sensitising officers and key stakeholders ahead of the introduction of the Electronic Cargo Tracking System (ECTS). The Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Nura Miko, announced this during a stakeholders’ workshop held at the PTML Conference Hall on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. According to DC Miko, PTML was selected as the second pilot command for the nationwide implementation of the ECTS following its successful deployment at the Apapa Area Command.
