The Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command of the  Nigeria Customs Service has handed over $578,000 seized from a male passenger to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Handing over the foreign currency to the EFCC in Lagos on Friday according to the directive of the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR,  the Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller  Effiong Harrison said that the money was falsely declared by the passenger at the airport which contravains  the provisions of Money Laundering Prohibition Act 2011. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has deplored the use of credible Intelligence gathering  and vigilant baggage checks to intercept the sum of $193,000 undeclared foreign currency concealed in a carton of yoghurt at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) has written a letter to the Kwankwasiya Group and The National Movement (TNM) reminding them of the need to maintain status quo in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) it had with them but which ended in 2023. According to a press release issued by the party, the letter, dated March 20, 2025 was   titled: "Reminder: Notice of Withdrawal from MoU" where the letter insisted that leaders of the group, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Elder Buba Galadima must respect the termination of the MoU it entered with the party in the build up to the 2023 presidential elections. The Apapa Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service last Friday, March 14, 2025 achieved a daily revenue collection of ₦18.9bn, which stands out as the highest in history of the command as the record breaks the existing highest daily collection of ₦18.2b which was achieved in October 2024. With the introduction of the B’Odogwu revenue platform at the Port and Terminal Multipurpose Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) the command said it has generated over N150 billion as revenue  between November 11, 2024 when the platform was implemented and March 4, 2025.
