International Women's Day is all about Unity, Celebration, Reflection, Advocacy And Positive actions in a global perspective but at a local level. It has been occurring for over a century and has continued to grow from strength to strength.

The world has witnessed a significant change and attitudinal shift in both women's and society's thoughts about Women's Equality and Emancipation. Hence, each YEAR the world inspires WOMEN and celebrates their achievements.

This year 2025 is a pivotal year for advancing gender equality worldwide, as the global community takes stock of progress made for women’s rights since the adoption of the Beijing Platform for Action. It will also mark several other galvanizing moments in the gender equality movement: The 25th Anniversary of UN Security Council resolution on WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY; The 15th Anniversary of UN Women’s establishment and the 65th Year of Nigeria after independence.

Furthermore, the colours of the day are Purple, Green And White.  Internationally, purple is the colour symbolism for women and it signifies Justice And Dignity. Green symbolizes Hope while White represents Purity.
