PTML Customs Command In Revenue Boost ...Rakes In Over N150 Billion in Four Months With B'Odogwu

With the introduction of the B’Odogwu revenue platform at the Port and Terminal Multipurpose Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) the command said it has generated over N150 billion as revenue  between November 11, 2024 when the platform was implemented and March 4, 2025.

The Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Tenny Daniyan stated this whole speaking to journalist recently in his commad. He credited the innovative platform for the revenue boost of the command  after replacing the NICIS platform which was managed by Web Fountain.

Comptroller Daniyan appreciated the innovative initiative of the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for initiating the B’Odogwu platform, describing it as a game-changer that will soon be deployed across other commands.

Daniyan noted that despite the initial challenges experienced at the pilot stage, the platform has now stabilized, improving revenue collection while empowering the trading community to maximize their business potential.

In his words, “The CGC has been at the forefront of innovation, introducing initiatives like Time Release Study and Advanced Ruling System to enhance trade facilitation and boost revenue".

According to him, B’Odogwu which is also known as the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS) is designed to replace NICIS under Section 28 of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, which grants Customs the authority to establish revenue collection platforms.

Launched in October 2024, the system has significantly improved revenue generation, with N150 billion collected since its full implementation in November 2024.

“The bold decision to implement B’Odogwu is paying off, and we are seeing the results,” Daniyan concluded.
