Dera Nnadi Bags Two Awards of Excellence at CGC Awards Night

The Tincan island Port Command of Nigeria Customs Service and Area Comptroller Dera Nnadi, mni has been honoured with Award and a Certificate of Excellence  at the CGC Award Night Ceremony held on Friday November 29, 2024 in Abuja.  Following his leadership and commitment to deliver on his mandates at the Tincan island port command,  Comptroller Dera Nnadi, mni was celebrated by colleagues and stakeholders at the Award ceremony, for winning an Award for "Distinctive Performance" and Award of Excellence For Work Place Transformation" . Apapa Command Maintains Status As Flagship Command, Coasts Home With Three Awards

The Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service has maintained it's leadership status as the flagship command of the Nigeria Customs as the command alone won three prestigious awards at the Comptroller General of Customs Gala Nite and award ceremony held  on Friday, 29th November 2024 in Abuja. NATIONAL POLICY ON MARINE AND BLUE ECONOMY TO CHART DIRECTION FOR DEVELOPMENT – OYETOLA

The Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON on Tuesday declared that a National Policy on Marine and Blue Economy is essential for the development of the Nigerian maritime sector. He stated this while declaring open a stakeholders validation session aimed at developing the National Policy on Marine and Blue Economy in Nigeria. The Minister emphasized that the National Policy will create a sustainable pathway for economic growth in fisheries, aquaculture, renewable energy, tourism, and seabed mining, while also ensuring environmental sustainability. JBPT Intercepts Smuggled Goods, Illicit Drugs Worth N556.4M In 4 Weeks

The Joint Border Patrol Team sector 2 in the South West zone of the Nigeria Customs Service has made spectacular seizures worth more than N556.4 million within the last four weeks . The Co-ordinator of the sector, Deputy Comptroller Mohammed Salisu Shuaibu disclosed this to  journalists in Lagos yesterday,, stating that 816 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50 kg each were amongst the goods intercepted by his men. Other items seized include; 285 Bales of used clothes, 674kg of Cannabis Sativa, 61 Jumbo sacks of used shoes, 802 Jerry cans containing premium motor spirit (25 Litres each), 8 Units of used vehicles He stated that in combating illegal migration across the international border, 34 illegal migrants were arrested by his men and handed over the same to the Nigeria Immigration Service for onward prosecution. NMGS Partners Customs To Combat Resource Smuggling

The Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) and the Nigeria Customs Service has agreed to work together to safeguard Nigeria’s natural resources and boosting economic growth. The agreement was reached in Abuja when the president of NMGS paid a courtesy visit to the Comptroller General of Customs at the Customs headquarters on the 21st of November. Maritime Capacity Development:  Mobereola Says CVFF Intact As NIMASA isCommitted to Disbursement

Following a recent report of a missing money in the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund CVFF as published in of the the newspapers, the management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA had reaffirmed that the the funds which is meant for maritime capacity development are intact and NIMASA is committed to it's disbursement  According to a press released signed by the head of Public Relations of NIMASA, Mr Edward Osagie FNIPR, the funds are intact and currently held with the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Single Treasury Account (TSA).  Describing the report of a missing money as both misleading and false, the statement reads, "For the record, the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund, securely held in the NIMASA account at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), remains intact.
