NCS Intercepts 844 Riffles, 112,500 Rounds of Ammunition in Onne, River State

 ... Arrest Three In Connection With Seizure  In it's national security effort, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) made a very significant seizure of arms and ammunition at the Port Harcourt Area II Command in Onne and arrested three suspects in connection with the seizure. The Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi mfr while briefing the press on Monday at Onne, Rivers State on July 1, 2024, said the service while acting on credible intelligence on June 21, 2024, during an  inspection of a suspicious 1x40-foot container from Turkey, found it to contain 844 rifles and 112,500 rounds of live ammunition.  These items which were concealed among doors, furniture, plumbing fittings, and leather bags,  had a total duty-paid value of ₦4,171,710,000.00.   The Nigerian Shippers’ Council has officially launched the Operational Manual for the Inland Dry Ports IDPs operating in the country. Comptroller Olomu Joins NDLEA, Other Agencies TO Walk Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

The Customs Area Controller of Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu PhD fsi, has joined the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and other sister government agencies to preach against drug Abuse and illicit trafficking. According to a press release by the spokesman of the command,  CSC Abubakar Usman , the Controller, yesterday had participated in the Walk Against Drugs to Commemorate the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.  The CAC joined the Commander NDLEA, Apapa Special Area Command, and other government agencies in the port to bring awareness on the dangers inherent in drug abuse.  He noted that such collaboration between sister agencies of government is crucial for intelligence sharing and ensuring public safety.  Olomu further noted that by working together, security agencies can achieve greater success and better protect their communities than they could alone.

NCS Losses Senior Officer While Making Presentation To The House Committee On Public Account
