NIMASA, Denmark Sternula Sign Pact On VHF Data Exchange System

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)  in her resolve to end illegal trade and trafficking in wildlife, is perfecting arrangements to extend capacity building in this area to all officers and men of the service. This is as a team of international partners, including the United States has promised assistance, particularly in training expertise and technology to boost the facilities on ground at the Customs Training College, Ikeja. Unbelievable: Smugglers Engage School Children To Traffic Drugs Along Seme-Krake Route

In what may sound unbelievable yet truth, drug barons along the Seme-Krake axis now employ the use of innocent school children in school uniform in carrying out their nefarious activities along the axis. These unscrupulous drug barons now use these the children as means of conveyance in a bid to avade the eagle eyes of the operative of the security agents alo g the route. Customs Hands Over 120 Sacks Of Cannabis Sativa To NDLEA

The Nigeria Customs Service, Western  Marine Command yesterday, handed over 120 Sacks of Cannabis Sativa purposely known as indian hemp to the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA at Ibafon, Apapa, Lagos. The sacks containing 10,551 Loaves of Cannabis Sativa was handed over at a ceremony which took place in the premises of the command at Ibafon,  Apapa Lagos. FG APPROVES 90-DAY WINDOW FOR PAYMENT OF IMPORT DUTY ON IMPROPERLY IMPORTED VEHICLES

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), through the directive of the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, in a proactive move has approved a 90-day window for regularizing import duties on specific categories of vehicles. This initiative, according to a statement from the service applies solely to vehicles imported into Nigeria where the requisite customs duty has not been fulfilled or vehicles detained due to undervaluation. The statement statement that vehicles seized and condemned will not be released under this arrangement and shall be forfeited to the Federal Government in accordance with extant regulations. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISMISS PETITION AGAINST NPA MD, BELLO-KOKO

The House of Representatives has dismissed a petition against the Managing Director/CEO, of the Nigeria Ports Authority NPA, Mohammed Bello-Koko by a group known as "Forum of Non-Governmental Organisations in Nigeria". The group had petitioned the House Committee on Public Petitions, alleging that the managing Director recorded a bad debt of N178 billion in the audited financial statement of the authority in 2019. However, at the resumed public hearing of the committee, on Wednesday last week, the group failed to appear before the committee to substantiate the allegation. Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Mike Etaba (APC - Cross River) dismissed the petition for lack of merit. He stated that, “This is the sixth time and the petitioner has not been in this place. The case is hereby dismissed,” Etaba said. Extortion: Corrupt Customs Officer Handed Over For Prosecutions

The Controller of the Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘B’ Kaduna of the Nigeria Customs  Service (NCS), Comptroller Dalha Wada Chedi has handed over the officer alleged to have extorted the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00 from a car buyer  to the Assistant Provost Marshal (APM) Customs Police Unit, Kaduna for further investigations and actions. Customs Collaborates DG TAXUD EU For Efficient Export Monitoring, Trade Facilitation

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has collaborated with the Directorate General Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) of the European Union (EU) for efficient export monitoring and trade facilitation. Capacity Development: NIMASA Delivers Institute of Marine and Transport Technology Building to The University of Port Harcourt
