FG SET TO LIFT SUSPENSION ON NIGERDOCK

The Federal Government has expressed its readiness to lift the suspension order on Nigerdock following its willingness to abide by the rules and its contributions to the growth of the National economy.  The Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, stated this recently when he visited the company in Lagos in the company of the Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye and some Management Staff of the Ministry. Addressing the Chief Executive Officer, Nigerdock, Maher Jarmakani and other officials of the company, the Minister pointed out that the reason why they were suspended was as a result of complaints from other Terminal Operators.  "What led to your suspension was that I received complaints from Terminal Operators, saying that you are not on the same level with them. The Minister of Transportation, Engr. The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajia Zainab Ahmed on Tuesday officially Commissioned  3 units of 500 maximum capacity newly installed mobile Scanners in order to promote the ease of doing business and fast clearance of goods and services at the Ports. Speaking at the ceremony which was held at the APM Terminals, Apapa, the Minister disclosed that 120 Customs Officers and Men have already been trained to handle the scanning machines and that the scanners will further upgrade the operations of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in line with international best practices. The Customs Area Controller of Seme Command, Compt. Mohammed Jibo had assured the commands readiness to meet the challenges of the perceived end of the year smuggling activities within the Seme border axis. ACG Charles Edike (Rtd.) Condoles With Family Of Late Kunle Folarin

ACG Charles Edike, signing the Condolence Register at Late Otunba Kunle Folarin's Residence Retired Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACG) Charles Edike on Friday condoled with the family of Late  Otunba Kunle Folarin,  Chairman, Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC), who passed on recently  after a brief illness at the age of 82. Edike while signing the condolence register said Folarin lived and died for the good of the nation’s maritime industry.
