NPA MD, DANTSOHO RECEIVES AWARD OF EXCELLENCE  IN MARITIME INFRASTRUCTURE MODERNIZATION AND GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS ‎


The Managing Director Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho has been honoured with award of Excellence in Maritime Infrastructure Modernization and Global Competitiveness by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.



He received this award on Sunday 7th December, 2025 at the flagship Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS) which was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.


‎The prestigious NAEPS Award is a presidential initiative coordinated by the Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation to publicly recognize and decorates public servants who have demonstrated excellence in the discharge of their duties.



Abubakar Dantsoho according to the organizers was recognized amongst other sterling performance scorecard for deepening efficiencies that catalyzed the attainment of national trade surplus through unprecedented growth in exports, set the pace for the National Single Window (NSW) through the Port Community System (PCS) being at the forefront of galvanizing the global investors’ interest in the modernization of Nigerian Ports infrastructure and equipment as well as growing influence of Nigeria in the comity of Maritime nations evidenced by Nigeria’s presidency of the Port Management Association of West Africa (PMAWCA), Vice- Presidency of the International Association for Ports & Harbours (IAPH) and the supportive role under the guidance of the Hon.  Minister of Marine & Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola for Nigeria’s re-enlistment into the Influential “Category C” of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Breaking News: CBN Ordered To Immediately Suspend Enforcement Of Cuber-Security Levy

Hon. Tajudeen Abbass Speaker of the House of Representatives   The House of Representatives has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to immediately suspend the enforcement of the controversial cybersecurity levy. The House took this decision following a motion raised by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda on behalf of all members. The House had expressed concern that the circular issued by the CBN could be misunderstood by Nigerians, it however, noted that the directive does not align with the principles outlined in section 44(2a) of the cybercrime Act regarding the recipients responsible for paying the levy. The House urged the CBN to promptly retract its previous circular regarding the levy’s enforcement and instead publish a new circular aligned with the Act’s provisions. The cybersecurity levy was introduced by CBN through a circular to all banks on May 6, 2024, in accordance with the stipulations of the cybercrime Act.
