Oyetola Inaugurates NPA Governing Board, Urges Reform-Driven Governance


The Honorable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, today, June 30, 2025 officially inaugurated the new Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Governing Board, while emphasizing reform-driven governance to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for economic development. 


The Minister highlighted the Board’s role in policy oversight, particularly in staffing and budgetary matters, while stressing that daily operations remain under the Managing Director’s purview, as per the NPA Act and Public Procurement Act of 2007. He urged the Board to focus on discipline and national interest to build a competitive, transparent, and efficient port system and called for cooperation between the Board and NPA management. 



The Board Chairman, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye expressed gratitude to the President and Minister, pledging unity and collaboration with the NPA and Ministry. 


The NPA Board members include Senator Adedayo Adeyeye (Chairman), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho (Managing Director), Hon. Olabanji Olawale Olateju (Member), Hon. Amirudin Tukur Idris (Member), Barr. Kelechi Igwe (Member), Ekpebide Ebi-Erin Daniel (Member) and Dr. Mercy Ilori (member), representing the Federal Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy. The others are Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar (Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services), Engr. Olalekan Badmus (Executive Director, Marine and Operations) & Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet (Executive Director, Finance and Administration).

NCS Medical Team Trains Apapa Area Command Officers On First Aid
