National Development Hall of Fame: NDLEA Chairman, Kogi Governor, Hon. Elegbeleye, ACG Ejibunu, Bash Ali Set For Induction


The Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Maj. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Nigeria Premier Football League Board Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, ACG HK Ejibunu, the Coordinator of Customs Operation Whirlwind, amongst others would formally be inducted into the famous National Development Hall of Fame. 


The event, which is the first of it's kind in Nigeria is powered by Elation magazine, Royal International magazine, Elation Communications Limited and it's affiliates is billed to take place on Saturday, June 21 2025 at the Nigeria National Merit Award Secretariat, in the heart of Abuja.


The National Development Merit Award ceremony which according to the organizers is adjudged to be the most celebrated in the West African sub-region is expected to play host to Nigerians who have written their names in the sand of time, either based in Nigeria or in the diaspora.


In the words of the Director of Honours, who doubles as a celebrated Security Consultant,  High Chief Darlinghtyn Momoh Umoru, "these persons adjudged worthy of honour were considered from all aspects of human endeavors. And they include; socio-economic, security, political and religious spheres, both in the Organized Private Sector or Public Sector".


Addressing news men In Lagos, the Director of Honours further revealed that honouring these great men and women, who must be of Nigerian origin irrespective of their country of resident, is a part of the organizers objectives for promoting merit and development.


"These honours, without bias are for a few persons who though, must have excelled or are excelling in their respective careers or profession with recognizable contributions and, or achievements toward the upliftment, growth, peace and unity of the Nigerian nation, he stated.


Others also expected to be inducted as  Bash Ali, OON, Hajji Gafar Liameed, the LSFA Board Chairman, Paul Ejime, a seasoned journalist, Pastor Dr. Victoria Ben Shimfe, Captain Raymond Bitanis (Rtd.), Chief Dr. Matthias Okuma, Onyekachukwu Davidson Ogbu, PRO of the Nigerian Community in Cote D' Ivoire, John Ocholi, Amb. Abigail Jerry, AC Dinya Sabo, Hon. Dr. Oluwasegun Musa, former gubernatorial candidate in Lagos and CSC Lauretta Utubor.


Others include Dr. Rafiu Oladipo, the President of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control and the President General, Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Chief Calistus Elozieuwa and Dr. Martins Okay Justice.


The event will also feature a significant induction, "prestigious Mother Africa Hall of Fame" which will be bestowed on Dr. Chioma Amajoh for her outstanding role in the fight against malaria and other medical health conditions.

Breaking News: CBN Ordered To Immediately Suspend Enforcement Of Cuber-Security Levy

Hon. Tajudeen Abbass Speaker of the House of Representatives   The House of Representatives has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to immediately suspend the enforcement of the controversial cybersecurity levy. The House took this decision following a motion raised by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda on behalf of all members. The House had expressed concern that the circular issued by the CBN could be misunderstood by Nigerians, it however, noted that the directive does not align with the principles outlined in section 44(2a) of the cybercrime Act regarding the recipients responsible for paying the levy. The House urged the CBN to promptly retract its previous circular regarding the levy’s enforcement and instead publish a new circular aligned with the Act’s provisions. The cybersecurity levy was introduced by CBN through a circular to all banks on May 6, 2024, in accordance with the stipulations of the cybercrime Act.
