NSC launches Operational Manual for Inland Dry Ports…Assures on Jos Dry Port takeoff

  The Nigerian Shippers’ Council has officially launched the Operational Manual for the Inland Dry Ports IDPs operating in the country. Addressing stakeholders at the sensitisation and official launching of the operational manual for the IDPs in Jos, the Plateau State capital, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Council Barr. Pius Akutah also disclosed that the Heipang Inland Dry Port located in Jos, would soon become operational. Comptroller Olomu Joins NDLEA, Other Agencies TO Walk Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

The Customs Area Controller of Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu PhD fsi, has joined the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and other sister government agencies to preach against drug Abuse and illicit trafficking. According to a press release by the spokesman of the command,  CSC Abubakar Usman , the Controller, yesterday had participated in the Walk Against Drugs to Commemorate the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.  The CAC joined the Commander NDLEA, Apapa Special Area Command, and other government agencies in the port to bring awareness on the dangers inherent in drug abuse.  He noted that such collaboration between sister agencies of government is crucial for intelligence sharing and ensuring public safety.  Olomu further noted that by working together, security agencies can achieve greater success and better protect their communities than they could alone.

NCS Losses Senior Officer While Making Presentation To The House Committee On Public Account

The Nigeria Customs Service yesterday, lost an officer to the cold hands of death at the National Assembly while he was making a presentation to the House committee on Public Account The Officer, Deputy Comptroller Etop Andrew Essien, who was in charge of Revenue in the Accounts Unit of the service according to a press statement from signed on behalf of the  Comptroller General of Custom, Bashir Adawale Adeniyi mfr by the public relations officer of the Service, CSC Abdullahi Maiwada had about three minutes into his presentation became uncomfortable and requested for water and showed signs of discomfort and efforts to save him failed. Apapa Customs Records 17.9b Daily Revenue Generation

NCS Intercepts Over N4bn Worth Of Ilicit Drugs At Tin Can Island Port

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted Ilicit and dangerous drugs worth over N4.1 billion at the TinCan Island Port allegedly imported from Canada and India.  This was revealed by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR  on Friday in Lagos during a media briefing at the TinCan Island command. Oyo/Osun Command Declares Over ₦30.6bn Revenue Within 5 Months

Oyo/Osun Area Command of the  Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a revenue of Thirty Billion, Six Hundred and Sixty-Four Million, Two Hundred and Forty-Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty-Nine Naira; Fifteen Kobo (₦30,664,247,939.15k generated for the period of January to May 2024. The  Customs Area Controller of the Command  Comptroller Ben Oramalugo, made this known in his media press briefing held recently  at the operational headquarters in Ibadan. In reaction to a recent report that said the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) could drop to ₦300/litre with the start of large-scale production by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and other local refiners, including modular refinery operators, the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) has refuted such report reports.  The Publicity Secretary of the Crude Oil Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN), Eche Idoko had believes that with adequate crude oil supply, local refineries can produce PMS at a lower cost, making it possible to sell at ₦300/litre. National Security: NCS Partners National Defence College.

In a move to foster national security in the country, the Nigeria Customs Service has collaborated with the national Defence Collage to enhance security and trade facilitation  The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on 5 May 2024 at the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters in Abuja, pledged to consolidate the collaboration between the National Defence College and Nigeria Customs Service to enhance national security and trade facilitation.  The CGC, while commending the commandant of National Defence College, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu, said Nigeria Customs Service holds the college in high esteem, stating that NCS appreciates the college and its graduates. Ferdinand Agu, Former NIMASA DG Passes On

The former Director General of the defunct National Maritime Authority (NMA) now Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Mr. Ferdinand Agu MFR has died. The former DG who was in attendance at a traditional wedding in Abuja until late Thursday night, died from a heart attack at the early hours of Friday. According to "TheNiche" report, a source close to the deceased confirmed the death by saying, “It is true. This is devastating news. I spoke with him yesterday. He was hale and hearty. We exchanged our usual jokes. Now, this! I am just back from the hospital. His remains have been taken to the mortuary.
