Customs Zonal Coordinator Decorates Comptroller Shuaibu, Others With New Ranks

The Zonal Coordinator of Zone A Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service, Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Mohammed Bello Jibo on Tuesday at the Customs Training College, Ikeja Lagos decorated Deputy Comptroller Ahmadu Shuaibu, the Customs Area Controller of Ogun 1 Command with his new rank of Comptroller along with other senior officers within the zone.

The decoration ceremony which was well attended by friends, Family and colleagues of the newly promoted officers saw the ACG being assisted by the Area Controllers and the zone to decorate newly promoted Comptrollers, Deputy Comptrollers and Assistant Comptrollers in the Zone A.

In his opening remark, ACG Jibo congratulated the officers and charged the newly promoted officers to increase their dedication to service and see their promotion as a conferment of trust which should motivate them to work harder.

He pointed out that the promotions, which comes with additional responsibilities, should propel all the beneficiaries to focus better work in line with the goals of the NCS under it’s present management team led by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR who according to him is working selflessly and committed to officers Wellbeing and Welfare.

Breaking News: CBN Ordered To Immediately Suspend Enforcement Of Cuber-Security Levy

Hon. Tajudeen Abbass Speaker of the House of Representatives The House of Representatives has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to immediately suspend the enforcement of the controversial cybersecurity levy. The House took this decision following a motion raised by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda on behalf of all members. The House had expressed concern that the circular issued by the CBN could be misunderstood by Nigerians, it however, noted that the directive does not align with the principles outlined in section 44(2a) of the cybercrime Act regarding the recipients responsible for paying the levy. The House urged the CBN to promptly retract its previous circular regarding the levy’s enforcement and instead publish a new circular aligned with the Act’s provisions. The cybersecurity levy was introduced by CBN through a circular to all banks on May 6, 2024, in accordance with the stipulations of the cybercrime Act.
