Western Marine Command Begins 2024 With Interception Of Over 4000 Parcels Of Canabis Sativa

The Western Marine Command of Nigeria Customs Service, in its continued efforts to purge the Western Waterways of the offensive activities of smuggling, has intercepted and seized 51 sacks containing 4,070 parcels of Cannabis Sativa in January 2024. The command, which is headed by Comptroller Odaudu Salefu in a press statement signed the the command's Public Relations Officer, SC Magaji Mailafiya informed that  on Friday, 19th January 2024, at exactly 1206hrs, a Joint Patrol Team of the Command received credible Intelligence of the movement of a wooden Boat around the Moba Seashore axis of the Command suspected of transporting offending goods. After a hot pursuit of the identified boat by the officers, the smugglers dived into the Creek, abandoning the boat fully loaded with the goods. Exports, Trade Facilitation: NPA, NCS Deepens Collaboration

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have pledge to work together to deepen trade facilitation and drive exports as part of measures to support the federal governments economic diversification effort. The two agencies of government made the pledge on Thursday when the Comptroller General of the NCS, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, led members of his management team to NPA's headquarters, Lagos on a working visit. They stated that the collaboration will improve Nigeria's export earnings and facilitation of export cargoes onboard ocean going vessels. Customs Seizes N4.279 billion Drugs at Tin Can Island Port

The Nigeria Customs Service ( NCS ) yesterday, Thursday disclosed that the seizure of N4.279bn worth of hard drugs were effected by the TinCan command of the service. The drugs, which include 56.39 kg of cocaine was valued at N2,368,380,000 and another 955 kg of Colorado Indica worth also valued N1,911,400,000. Giving the breakdown of the seized drugs and ammunition during a press briefing at TinCan yesterday, the Comptroller General of the Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, said the dangerous drugs, arms and ammunition which came from Canada and South Africa. were five pistols, 445 rounds of live ammunition and some empty pistol magazines while the dangerous drugs includes 65 packets of Colorado Indica weighing 32.5 kg, 17 packets of cocaine weighing 16.690 kg, and another 151 packets of Colorado Indica which weighed 107 kg. As Command Generates  Over N90B In 2023 The Murtala Muhammed Airport Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has being mandated by the Customs high command to generate the sum of One hundred and forty four billion naira only in the 2024 fiscal year. INSECURITY: FCT COMMANDANT CHARGES PERSONNEL ON INTELLIGENCE GATHERING

The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Olusola Odumosu has charged officers and men of the Command to engage in active intelligence gathering to tackle the current security challenges in the territory. He gave this charge during a briefing with personnel at the Command's headquarters, Wuse, Zone 5, Abuja. NPA Receives Largest Container Vessel at Lekki Deep Seaport no

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) over the weekend received one of the largest container vessels at the Lekki Deep Seaport. The vessel, MAERSK EDIRNE, which arrived the seaport on Sunday was navigated by experienced and well equipped Pilots of the NPA was measured 367m in length with a breadth of 48.2m and a Gross Registered Tonnage GRT of 142,131metric tonnes and a Dead Weight Tonnage DWT of 147,340 metric tonnes consisting of 3,376 metric tonnes total cargo onboard. Bello Koko had while receiving the vessel on Sunday commended the Minister for his support and and endorsement of the Authority's initiatives and investments in employee upskilling and equipment renewal. According to the Managing Director, the support has made this milestone of the agency seamlessly achievable. The authority had in the past also received the largest commercial vessels in the country “MV Stadelhorn” and “MSC Maureen” at Onne Port and TinCan Island Port Complex respectively.

Apapa Customs Generates N1.172trn In Year 2023

Seizes N22.8Billion Worth Of Contrabands The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service  said it  recorded a 14.6% increase in revenue during the 2023 fiscal year as it generated  a total of N1.172 trillion into the government coffers despite a decline in trade volume. The command within the same period of 2023 also seized offending goods worth over N22.8 billion According to the press statement  by the Public Relations Officer of the command, CSC Abubakar Usman revenue was N149.8 billion above N1.022 trillion collected in 2022.
