MMAC Customs Targets N144B Revenue For 2024

... As Command Generates  Over N90B In 2023



The Murtala Muhammed Airport Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has being mandated by the Customs high command to generate the sum of One hundred and forty four billion naira only in the 2024 fiscal year.

This was revealed by the Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Mohammed Yusuf yesterday during a media briefing in his office. 

He stated that the amount was given to the command following the outstanding performance of the command during the previous year of 2023 in the areas of revenue generation, anti Smuggling and trade facilitation.

Yusuf informed that the command under his watch was able to generate the sum of Ninety billion, four hundred and twenty six million, one hundred and eighty five thousands, four hundred and forty seven naira only, (90,426,185,447.01), Comparing with revenue collected in year 2022 which stood at Sixty nine billion, seven hundred and sixty eight million, five hundred and nine thousand, five hundred and ninety seven naira, seventy nine kobo (N69,768,509,597.79), showing a clear progressive difference of Twenty billion, six hundred and fifty seven million, six hundred and seventy five thousand and eight hundred and forty nine naira only(#20,657,675,849.22) which depicts 29.61% of increase.


In the area of Anti Smuggling, the Customs Area Controller stated as a result of resilience of officers, the command, within the same period of 2023 made a total 10 seizures and  the items includes, Tramadol, military camouflage jackets, military hardwares, counterfeit medicament, dried shark fins and dried donkey genitals with duty paid value of forty seven billion, two hundred and seven million, four hundred and twenty four thousand, three hundred and eighty nine naira and eighty four kobo only (47,207,424,389.84).

In the area of stakeholders engagement, the CAC informed that the command has maintained it's Open-Door policy and have resolved a lot of issues of common interest with concerned stakeholders.

While appreciating the officers and men of the command, he urged them to remain focused and steadfast in discharging their assigned responsibilities, he however, enjoined his officers and critical stakeholders in the command to to continue to existing collaboration and synergy to made the command's  2024 revenue target of N144 Billion achievable.

He thanked the CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, and his team  for giving the command the support and opportunity to perform in their own capacity while assuring that the 2024 target of the command would be achieved.
