PBAT APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM FOR NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE

Following the appointment of the Acting Comptroller General of Customs

Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR on 19 June 2023 and the retirement of some

management members in the Service, the Commander in Chief of the Armed

Forces Federal Republic Nigeria, President Bola Ahmad Tinubu GCFR has

approved the appointment of three Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs) and three Assistant Comptroller Generals

According to a statement from the Service spokes person, CSC Abdullahi Maiwada, the appointed DCGs includes,

DCG Festus Okun, DCG Musa Baba Abdullahi and DCG Albashir Hamisu while the list of ACGs includes, ACG Kamardeen Olumoh; ACG Auwal Baba Mohammed and

ACG Adeogun Alajogun

While thanking the retired members of the management for their meritorious

service, the Acting CGC,Bashir Adewale

Adeniyi MFR congratulated the newly appointed Officers and charged them to

redouble their efforts to ensure the Service achieves greater heights in its

mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation.

NCS Medical Team Trains Apapa Area Command Officers On First Aid

NCS Seizes 13 Containers of Unwholesome Imports

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command has intercepted 13 containers with over 7.6 tonnes of cannabis sativa, 170,000 bottles of codeine syrup, security-sensitive drones and large quantities of expired consumer and pharmaceutical products. The Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, PhD, MFR, disclosed this during a press briefing held at the Apapa Area Command in the presence of the Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba and heads of other sister agencies earlier today, 10th September, 2026, according to CGC, the seized consignments have a combined duty-paid value of ₦43.59 billion.
