TINCAN ISLAND PORT CSR SHIP BERTHS AT KANKON BADAGRY


The TinCan Island Port of the Nigerian Ports Authority in a view to reaching out to their host community under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative program, last week visited the Lagos State Model Collage Kankon in Badagry where it donated school bags to students and umbrellas to the teachers.


The Port Manager, Mallam Buba Jubril who earlier asserted that the initiative of the Port CSR Programs to the school is to encourage and appreciate the school whose student Josephine Krisliwedo Hunpe won the NPA's Quiz competition which was held to commemorate the 2022 World Maritime Day celebration.



Speaking at ceremony, the Port Manager and the Principal Manager,  Corporate and Strategic Communications, Mrs Hauwa Usman said the Lagos State Model College Kankon, Badagry was one of the few schools chosen for coming first amongst 3,000 schools which participated in the competition.


Mrs Usman also added that the gesture is also to encourage other students of the same school to strive to be like their colleague since the school is the best among other good schools.



Also Speaking at the event another member of the Tincan Port delegation, Mr Sola Adesanwo, Head, Corporate and Strategic Communications of the port added that the children should endeavor to dream big and not allow  distractions as this will help them to easily achieve their  goals and make them stand out among their peers.

Commended the Port Manager and his management team for the amazing gesture, adding that he never imagined any organisation remembering them in the remote village of Kankon in Badagry where the school is located.


He noted that the gifts is a big motivation for the students as it will encourage and make them look back in the future and say it was a turning point in their life and make them imbibed the spirit of giving.


The principal told the visiting team that he was truly elated and that this is a practical reflection of the rewards which goes hand in hand with sanctions in the educational sector. He later prayed for the organisation and the delegation.

NIMASA Reshuffles Management Team For Enhanced Efficiency And Inter-departmental Collaboration
