The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has announced the seizure of 13 containers at the Apapa Port in Lagos over trade infractions ranging from prohibited to expired and falsely declared goods, worth over N6.81 billion ‎ ‎The CGC stated this while speaking with newsmen at the APMT Terminal on Tuesday, where he said that customs officers uncovered the contraband through detailed scanning analysis and physical examination.   ‎ ‎On medical infractions, he disclosed that a 40-foot container laden with large quantities of expired pharmaceutical products, including Mixagrip Cold Caplets, Ladinax tablets, Chloroquine injections and Diclofenac tablets, while two 40-foot containers were ladened with large consignments of Hyegra 200 and Sildenafil Citrate unregistered pharmaceuticals.  ‎ ‎Giving further details of the seizures, the CGC said a 20-foot container had 800 cartons of Codeine (TPL CSC), concealed in toilet flushing cisterns and sanitary ware...

  ‎ ‎ The Kano/Jigawa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), says it intercepted various smuggled goods with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of over N1.01 billion between January 1 and March 10, 2026. ‎According to reports gathered, the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Command, Deputy Comptroller UU Adamu disclosed this on Tuesday during his maiden press briefing held at the Customs House in Bompai, Kano. ‎He said the seizures were made through intelligence-driven operations, coordinated patrols and strategic surveillance across major routes and border corridors in Kano and Jigawa states.
