In another major joint operation, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Port Command, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 347.5 kilograms of Canadian Loud; a potent strain of cannabis,  hidden inside an imported Toyota Sienna vehicle. ‎ ‎The seizure occurred barely 24 hours after Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, Customs Area Controller  (CAC) Apapa Port Command, received a World Customs Organisation (WCO) Certificate of Merit. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun I Area Command, has confirmed a violent attack on some of its officers by suspected armed drug traffickers during an anti-smuggling operation at Akokoro area of Iwoye, Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Thursday, 22 January 2026, at about 1600 hours. ‎ ‎The incident, according to a press statement signed on behalf of the Acting Area Controller of the command, Deputy Comptroller Olukayode Afeni by the command Public Relations Officer SC Chado Zakari, occurred while officers of the Command, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a 12-tyre truck suspected to be conveying a large consignment of illicit drugs and other prohibited items.
