NCSB APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF 4 DCGs, 12 ACGs, PROMOTES 3,312 SENIOR OFFICERS, REVIEWS KEY OPERATIONAL UPDATES

The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB), at its 63rd regular meeting held on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, chaired by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, approved the appointment of four (4) Deputy Comptroller-Generals (DCGs) and twelve (12) Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs).  According to a press release from the Nationsl Public Relations Officer of NCS, AC Abdullahi Maiwada, these appointments were made to fill vacancies created by the recent retirement of some management members, while also strengthening equitable representation within the Service’s leadership structure. The appointments were also in line with the availability of positions across the six geopolitical zones and in strict compliance with the Federal Character Policy of the Government, as provided in Section 14(4) of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023. FOU Zone 'A' Intercepts, Industrial Drones, Firearms, Live Ammunition, Others Along Ogun and Ondo State

The Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone 'A,'  of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has once again exhibited it's prowess in combating smuggling and illicit traffic of dangerous and security risk goods within it's operational jurisdiction. The unit, yesterday announced the  interception of dangerous items, which  includes 15 automatic firearms, 4,841 live ammunition, 2 industrial drones, sacks of second hand clothes and smuggled pharmaceutical products. The Customs Area Controller of the Unit, Comptroller MS Shuaibu disclosed this yesterday, 2nd September 2025 while addressing media men at the Unit’s Headquarters in Lagos. Comptroller Ihenacho Assumes Leadership of Imo/Abia Customs

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced Comptroller Blessing Ihenacho as the new Customs Area Controller of the Imo/Abia Area Command, Owerri. She takes over from Comptroller Friday Akpan, who has officially retired from active service. The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, at the Command’s headquarters conference room. Comptroller Ihenacho, the 26th Area Controller of the Command, was formally introduced by the Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Customs Nnamdi Aligwekwe. In his farewell remarks, Comptroller Akpan expressed gratitude to the officers and men of the Command for their unwavering support during his tenure. Apapa Customs Generates ₦215billion In August Despite B'Odogwu Network Glitches

Despite reported network glitches since the introduction of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS) also known as B'Odogwu at the Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service, the command, in the month of August 2025, generated the sum of ₦215b. Customs Hands Over Three Trucks Of Expired Pharmaceutical Products Worth N3.7bn To NAFDAC

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) through the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone 'A' has handed over three trucks of various expired pharmaceutical products to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). The Area Controller of the Unit, Comptroller Mohammed Shuaibu disclosed this when the new NAFDAC Director in charge of Enforcement and Investigation, Dr. Martin Iluyomade (fsi) paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Zone in Ikeja Lagos. NCS Strengthens Trade Facilitation at Onne with Strategic Industry Engagements

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone Command, has intensified collaboration with enterprises operating in the zone to promote trade facilitation and enhance revenue generation. According to reports gathered, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Immaculata Nyong, disclosed this after a three-week tour of facilities and enterprises in the zone. Comptroller Olomu Reassures of Improvement As Apapa Command Collects ₦161b on B'Odogwu Platform in 3 Weeks

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu phd has given reassurance that the Unified Customs Management System, also known as B'Odogwu will pick up and surpass user expectations soon just as the command announced a duty collection of ₦161,258,483,474.63 within three weeks. Comptroller Olomu who stated this following series of intense stakeholders engagement championed by the CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, said there are prospects of improvement in the B'Odogwu system.
