NCS Sets To Activate B’Odogwu In Other Commands ...Partners CBN To Implement Technology- Driven Trade Reforms

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR  has reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s (NCS) commitment to enhancing collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to facilitate trade and boost revenue generation which he said would benefit all Nigerians. The CGC Adeniyi made this known recently during a courtesy  to the Central Bank of Nigeria, where he met with its governor, Olayemi Cardoso. According to him, the partnership aims to drive the full implementation of the B’Odogwu system, which is an indigenous trade facilitation platform developed by the NCS to replace the existing Nigerian Integrated Customs Information System (NICIS) II. “The initiative is expected to modernise Customs operations, improve efficiency in trade documentation and enhance revenue collection,” Adeniyi stated. WMC Hands Over Seized Drugs and Two Suspects To NDLEA And NAFDAC

The Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service on Wednesday, 26th February handed over seized drugs to the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA and the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC. The event, which took place at the command's headquarters in Ibafon also withnessed the handing over of two suspects arrested in procession of 29 loaves of Cannabis Sativa which was concealed in a sack of rebagged rice. Speaking at the ceremony, the Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller PK Bamisaiye said, "today, we formally hand over 4,973 loaves of Cannabis Sativa, two suspects and 195 bottles of 300ml codeine to NDLEA and NAFDAC repectively for further investigation and prosecution. NIMASA Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthen Maritime Business Growth

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a level playing field and creating an enabling environment for businesses in Nigeria’s maritime sector. The Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, made this known while receiving the Executive members of the Nigerian Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association. He emphasized that under the supervision of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, led by Hon. Customs: TinCan Controller Charges Officers On Customs Procedures And Due Diligence

The customs Area Controller of TinCan Island command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Frank Onyeka has stressed the importance of conducting thorough examinations of consignments before releasing  from the port.  Speaking during a parade at the command's head office in TinCan on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, he urged his officers to carry out diligent inspections to avoid unnecessary stop-and-search actions upon departure, while highlighting the need for National security to be prioritised in all decisions. WMC Hits Hard on Drug Smugglers With Seizure Of N398,265,000 Worth Of Canabis Sativa

The Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service in its resolve   resolve to keep re-strategizing its operational modalities especially in the area of anti-smuggling activities has continued to pay off, as this has led to the highest singular operational seizure of cannabis sativa under the leadership of Comptroller PK Bamisaiye. The command, in a press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Chief Superintendent of Customs CSC Lomba Benjamin disclose that the command on Thursday, 20th February made a seizure of 3,793kg loaves of cannabis sativa popularly know as Indian Hemp contained in 53 sacks weighting 1,958kg with a Duty paid value DPV of  N398,265,000. Commenting on the Seizure, Comptroller Bamisaiye said, his Officers, while acting  on credible intelligence earlier received were patrolling close to Ilase sea beach, at about 200 nautical miles from the Lagos anchorage when they sighted the smugglers.
