The Acting Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, on Monday, 7 July 2023, assured stakeholders of the Nigeria Customs Service under his administration”s commitment to ensuring the prosperity of their businesses.   He made this known in Abeokuta, the headquarters of Ogun II Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service during his visit to the command as part of his familiarisation visit. NIMASA HANDS OVER MODULAR FLOATING DOCK SITE TO TECHNICAL PARTNERS

During the handing over ceremony The Management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA has handed over the leased site at the Continental Shipyard Limited (CSL) of the Nigerian Ports Authority to the technical partners, Melsmore.   The technical partners are to liaise with the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority in finalising site management, which include risk assessment in preparation to move the Modular floating Dock to the Continental Shipyard for the commencement of full operations. BIOMETRICS POLICY NOT TO DISENFRANCHISE MEMBERS BUT TO AUTHENTICATE MEMBERSHIP RECORD - ASIMPIN

  The Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria (ASIMPIN) has maintained that the introduction of biometric identification is not to disenfranchise any member during election but to guide against what happened in the median election of the association where people came from all over the place to vote.   Addressing the press on Tuesday at a press briefing, the National Publicity Secretary of the apex Igbo maritime    practitioners association in the country,    Dr. Obicee Okonkwo explained that the idea of biometrics for the association is to have a proper database of its membership, authenticate its records nationwide and also give every bonafide member who must belong to a chapter a genuine identification card which would used for identification during any election of the elections.   Dr Okonkwo disclosed that ASIMPIN executive led by HRM, Eze Amb. PBAT APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM FOR NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE

APAPA CUSTOMS GENERATES N502 BILLION …STEPS UP COMPLIANCE THROUGH SYSTEM PROFILING, MANIFEST TRACKING

The Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service has collected a total of N502,987,516,219.26 from January 2023 to date and made 16 seizures with     a duty paid value (DPV) of N1.4 billion within the same period. The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command , Comptroller Auwal Baba Mohammed, according to the press release by the command Public Relations Officer, CSC A Usman, described the revenue collection and seizures made as a fallouts of increased compliance, urged officers to redouble    their efforts in revenue collection, trade facilitating and strict enforcement of anti smuggling activities. NPA DECRIES INCREASING EXTORTION ALONG THE PORT ACCESS ROADS

The Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr. Bashir Yusuf Jamoh, OFR, has lauded the life style and ethical behaviour of Late Prince Paeke Dongban, who until his death on July 23, 2023 was an employee of the agency.   While commissioning a multi-purpose hall built in honour of Late Paeke in Ngootlong, Plateau State, Jamoh described the deceased as a morally upright young man who was ethically conscious and a good example in the midst of his peers.   According to a statement from NIMASA, the DG while describing prince Paeke who was born on 29th January 1984  but died on 23rd July 2022 from the workplace perspective, said the deceased was known for punctuality, commitment to work and sincerity to the cause of nation building.   Dr. Jamoh said "An emotional void created in the hearts of the NIMASA family members by the demise of Prince is filled by the noble deeds he was noted for and the many positive ways he touched lives at work and at pl

Operation Free Port Corridors:, FRSC Set To introduce Mobile Courts

In order to further strengthen the traffic management on the Lagos port access roads which has gained momentum since the launch of the Expanded Port Standing Task Team (PSTT), the National Coordinator of the Presidential Port Standing Task Team (PSTT), Mr Moses Fadipe together with the Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Babatunde Farinloye have agreed to introduce Mobile Courts within the ports corridors They    took the decision during a courtesy visit by the PSTT boss to the FRSC Commander in the Ojudu area of Lagos. After reviewing the progress of the ‘Operation Free Port Corridors’ they jointly agreed that the collaborative efforts of multiple government agencies including security agencies, FRSC, Apapa Local Government etc; under the PSTT has yielded positive results that needs to be sustained.
