‎Customs Care: Customs Enhances Learning with New Community Infrastructure in Ikorodu ‎

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has continued to expand its community development effort in Nigeria with the renovation of Methodist Primary School, Ibeshe, Ikorodu Lagos.


‎Commissioning the renovated school on Wednesday, 11th February 2026. the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, said the project reflects the Service’s dedication to impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


‎He commended the Lilypond Export Command for selecting the school, praising the foresight behind the intervention.


‎"This is the kind of impact we want to make through our CSR. This is very gratifying not just to the Comptroller General of Customs, all members of management, but also to the members of the community that we are serving", he said.


‎The renovation covered over 15 classroom blocks and included installing 15 solar security lights, computer rooms, a school library, toilets for teachers and pupils, a clinic, a food vendor area, a multipurpose hall, and a playground.


‎Speaking earlier, the former Customs Area Controller of Lilypond Export Command, Comptroller Ajibola Odusanya (Rtd), as well as the current Customs Area Controller, Lilypond Export Command, Comptroller Samuel Ariyibi described education as a powerful driver of social progress, while also urging the school authorities to establish a maintenance unit for the facilities.


‎The School's Headmistress, Felicia Oyatoye, expressed gratitude to Customs for the laudable project and noted that the renovation would significantly improve the teaching and learning environment.


‎The event attracted traditional rulers of the Ibeshe Kingdom, government officials, community stakeholders and well-wishers.

NCS Medical Team Trains Apapa Area Command Officers On First Aid

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) medical team yesterday trained officers and men of the Apapa Area Command on basic first aid training. ‎ ‎The Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba according to a press release issued by the public relations officer of the command, Superintendent of Customs SC JT Ayagbalo described the initiative as a crucial investment in workplace safety and operational readiness. ‎ ‎In his welcome address, Comptroller Oshoba emphasized that the programme reflects the priority placed on staff welfare by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR. ‎ ‎He described first aid knowledge as a universal life skill that every adult should possess, especially officers as they are frequently exposed to high-risk operational environments. ‎ ‎ Oshoba noted that simple but timely interventions such as; CPR, bleeding control, choking relief and stroke recognition often determine whether a victim survives, fully recov...
