Apapa Command Decorates 200 Newly promoted Officers As Oshoba Charged them To Uphold Ethical Standard


The Apapa customs Command  of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS),  yesterday Thursday, 18th September, at the command’s head office in Apapa Lagos, decorated 200 newly promoted officers with new ranks.


Speaking at the ceremony, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba implored the newly promoted officers to ensure they uphold the highest ethical standards required by the Service.



Oshoba noted that the promotions were a testament to hard work and dedication to duty, charging the newly promoted officers to demonstrate greater commitment to their responsibilities, as their new positions now require smart work and impactful results.


In his words, “In your new positions, you must uphold higher standards to justify management confidence in you. You should see your promotion as a call to improve your performance and justify the management’s confidence in your capacity to deliver more.” 



The CAC revealed that 200 officers of the command were promoted, including eight Deputy Comptrollers promoted to the Comptroller rank, 30 Assistant Comptrollers to Deputy Comptroller and 35 Superintendents to Chief Superintendent of Customs.


The Area Controller also expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, and the NCS management team for ensuring that merit was upheld as the guiding principle in the current promotion exercise.
