NPA Commits to Deepening Transparency, Reconstitute ACTU Committee


The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)  in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has reconstituted its Anti‑Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).


The Managing Director of NPA,  Dr.  AbuDantsoho, who was represented at the inauguration ceremony by the Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Engr. Olalekan Badmus, told the ICPC that the new members were carefully chosen for their performance, integrity and professional skills from across the Authority. 


Dantsoho according to reports explained that The re‑inaugurated team will act as ambassadors of probity and diligence and said the Authority would provide the necessary support for their mandate. He urged the that while successive senior officials have led the Unit, recent retirements altered its composition, making the current re‑constitution necessary.


The Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to probity, transparency and accountability and pledged continued support for the ACTU in line with ICPC guidelines. Support measures include senior leadership for the Unit, office accommodation, training at the Anti‑Corruption Academy in Keffi and other approved centres locally and abroad, adequate funding, autonomy and sponsorship of public enlightenment programmes.



Speaking at the event, the resident Anti‑Corruption Commissioner (RACC) Chukwura Alexender, represented by Chief Superintendent Mary Omonoyan of the ICPC Lagos State Office, said involving public servants directly in the prevention and fight against corruption is commendable.


The reconstituted committee members are Leonard Onoja as (Chairman), Mariam Yakubu, Falola Olufunlayo, Esther Akinfiro, Iroriteraye Joy, Abdurrahman Yakubu, Onwuemene Benedicta and Ipinlaye Ayodeji.


Recall, the ACTU was first established in 2004 by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as one of the implementation mechanisms for its Mandate on prohibition and prevention of corruption especially in the Public Service.

NIMASA Reshuffles Management Team For Enhanced Efficiency And Inter-departmental Collaboration
