WISTA Nigeria Reaffirms Support for National Policy on Marine and Blue Economy

The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has pledged its unwavering support for the effective implementation of the National Policy on Marine and Blue Economy. 


This commitment was reaffirmed by the President of WISTA Nigeria, Dr. Odunayo Ani, during a stakeholder engagement convened by the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy in lagos

Describing the policy as both timely and visionary, Dr. Ani noted that it reflects the Federal Government’s resolve to drive sustainable ocean governance, job creation, economic diversification and environmental stewardship. She commended the Ministry for creating an inclusive platform that brings together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society.


“As a key stakeholder in the maritime sector, WISTA Nigeria believes that strategic collaboration is indispensable to the successful implementation of this national blueprint,” she said.


Dr. Ani emphasized WISTA Nigeria’s commitment to inclusivity, gender equity, innovation, and capacity building within the marine and blue economy space. She also lauded the Ministry’s recognition of women’s vital role in maritime development.


“WISTA Nigeria stands ready to support this agenda through advocacy, training, and strategic partnerships,” she added.


She concluded by assuring the Honourable Minister His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola CON and all stakeholders of WISTA Nigeria’s continued collaboration toward unlocking the full potential of Nigeria’s blue economy for national prosperity and future generations.

NIMASA Reshuffles Management Team For Enhanced Efficiency And Inter-departmental Collaboration
