ACG Charles Orbih Honours Former Command Public Relations Officers in Zone A

...Harps on Professionalism in Their  Endeavours


The Zonal Coordinator, Zone 'A', Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs (ACG) Charles Orbih, has commended the out-gone Command Public Relations Officers in the  Zone for their commitment to duty and contributions while serving in the unit  urging them to uphold the values of integrity and professionalism in their future assignments.

ACG Orbih gave the commendation on Sunday, 16 February 2025, in Lagos, during a special send-off party organised by the Public Relations Unit, Zone 'A', to celebrate officers leaving the unit. The occasion, according to report by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, CSC Akaninyene Edeminam was marked by heartfelt tributes, commendations, and goodwill messages from senior officers and colleagues.


The Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Service Training College, Ikeja, Deputy Comptroller Aminu Ahmed, expressed pride in the officers’ accomplishments. Having trained some of them, he highlighted their dedication and consistency, noting that their success serves as motivation for younger officers.


In his welcome address, the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Zone 'A', Chief Superintendent of Customs Akaninyene Edeminam, who represented the National Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, at the occasion, thanked the outgoing PROs for their dedication and sacrifices in shaping the PR Unit.

“Your sacrifices have made the PR Unit what it is today,” he remarked, while calling on them to continue supporting the unit to achieve its purpose. Once a PRO, always a PRO,” he added.


Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Abubakar Usman, the former Customs Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Apapa Command, advised officers to remain steadfast in their responsibilities and prepare for greater challenges ahead.

Similarly, Assistant Comptroller of Customs Muhammed Yakubu, the former PTML CPRO, emphasised the importance of humility and sacrifice in public service.


Superintendent of Customs Ngozi Okwara, former TCIP CPRO, took her turn to urge officers to adhere strictly to the chain of command and verify all information before dissemination.

The event featured the presentation of awards to the out-gone officers in recognition of their exemplary service. Expressing their gratitude, the honourees pledged to uphold the standards and values instilled in them during their tenure.


The celebration concluded with a formal dinner, where officers shared memorable moments and extended best wishes to their outgoing colleagues.

NCS Medical Team Trains Apapa Area Command Officers On First Aid
