CONMMEP Holds Workshop On Port Community Engagement


The Congress of Nigerian Maritime Media Practitioners- CONMMEP has concluded every arrangement to hold a one day workshop programme with theme; "Port Community Engagement: Building Partnerships for Sustainable Development."


CONMMEP, a media advocacy group committed to fair, unbiased, and balanced reportage on Nigeria's maritime sector will at the event, provide a platform for Maritime stakeholders, Port Communities, agencies of government and corporate establishments within the maritime sector to review Port community engagement and chart a new course for development and more gainful partnerships 


The workshop, which is aimed at  promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and showcase people oriented projects and services benefitting port Communities will also seeks to address challenges resulting from neglecting the host Communities. 


The workshop, which was initially planned to hold at Marriott Hotel Ikeja on 28th of November, 2024, has now been rescheduled to hold at the Rockview Hotel and Suites, Apapa, on Tuesday, 17th of December 2024. 


According to a press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of CONMMEP, Mr McAnthony Onuoha, the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, will be the Chief Guest of Honour, while the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale, Bashir Adeniyi, MFR, is Special Guest of Honour. Royal Fathers of the Day are Ojora of Ijora Kingdom, HRM, Oba Abdul Fatai Aremu Aromire and the Olu of Iwa and Apapa Kingdom, HRM, Oba Moroof Oyekunle Atanda Amodu Tijani Oluwa.


CONMMEP wants to use this medium to reassure stakeholders of its readiness and commitment to this august event, and is optimistic of its huge success. 


CONMMEP will be glad to welcome relevant stakeholders and all invitees to the occasion.

NIMASA Reshuffles Management Team For Enhanced Efficiency And Inter-departmental Collaboration

I n an exercise aimed  at strengthening  inter-departmental collaboration and inject new energy into the system to further improve performance and enhance efficiency across the maritime sector, The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced a strategic redeployment of its management staff as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery in line with its core mandate.   Under the new structure, according to a press statement issued by Mr. Edward Osagie FNIPR,  Head, Public Relations Officer of the agency, a total of 56 management staff were affected in the exercise.
