Editor-In-Chief of Nigeria Maritime 360 News Passes On At 68


The Editor - in - Chief of the defunct Nigeria Maritime 360 magazine and online newspaper, Prince Simeon Abiodun Soyele ,has passed on.

He was said to have returned from church on Sunday , May 19th, 2024, after giving sermon on the topic: Holy Spirit at Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, Agbara Olorun Ni Gbani at Egbeda and complained of chest pain before he was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The 68 old year old Owu Prince, hailed from Otileta Soyele Royal Family in Owu, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He was one of the candidates who contested for the Owu stool in 2023 but lost the exalted seat to the present occupier.

Prince Soyele was also the Group Managing Director (GMD) of Perceival Security and Safety Agencies Limited, a group of companies with head office in Abule Egba area of Lagos State.

Perceival Agencies Ltd was the publishers of the now rested Nigeria Maritime 360 online newspaper.

While giving sermon on Sunday on the topic: Holy Spirit, the deceased was said to have admonished members to be filled with the Holy Spirit because it is through the Holy Spirit that people could have an encounter with God and be blessed.

A members of his church under his sermon on Sunday, who has been devastated by the news of the Owu Prince demise disclosed that the late preacher told the congregation that Holy Spirit gives  power even as he was intermittently leading them in prayers of protection against death.

As at the time of writing this report, friends, family and sympathisers, who were still shell- shocked by the sudden demise of Prince Soyele, were still trooping into his Shasha home to pay their last respect

He is survived by wife, four children and grandchildren.

Breaking News: CBN Ordered To Immediately Suspend Enforcement Of Cuber-Security Levy

Hon. Tajudeen Abbass Speaker of the House of Representatives   The House of Representatives has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to immediately suspend the enforcement of the controversial cybersecurity levy. The House took this decision following a motion raised by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda on behalf of all members. The House had expressed concern that the circular issued by the CBN could be misunderstood by Nigerians, it however, noted that the directive does not align with the principles outlined in section 44(2a) of the cybercrime Act regarding the recipients responsible for paying the levy. The House urged the CBN to promptly retract its previous circular regarding the levy’s enforcement and instead publish a new circular aligned with the Act’s provisions. The cybersecurity levy was introduced by CBN through a circular to all banks on May 6, 2024, in accordance with the stipulations of the cybercrime Act.
