Comptroller Jaiyeoba Calls For Sincere Declaration As Apapa Customs Hits N16B Daily Revenue

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Apapa Customs Command, Comptroller Babajide Jaiyeobha has called for sincere declaration from importers and their agents when operating in the Apapa area command as the Command hits an outstanding daily revenue generation of over #16b. Describing sincere declaration as a mark of integrity that saves time and money, resulting in a win-win situation for everyone. According to him, not making sincere declaration is poor business decision capable of causing delays, leading to issuance of demand notices and denying the declarants of the benefits of enjoying fast track and possible migration to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status. Extortion: Corrupt Customs Officer Handed Over For Prosecutions

The Controller of the Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘B’ Kaduna of the Nigeria Customs  Service (NCS), Comptroller Dalha Wada Chedi has handed over the officer alleged to have extorted the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00 from a car buyer  to the Assistant Provost Marshal (APM) Customs Police Unit, Kaduna for further investigations and actions. The Comptroller while addressing newsmen at the Headquarters of the Unit in Kaduna on Monday, 26th February 2024. confirmed that the suspected Officer involved in the unwholesome act is indeed an operative of the Unit deployed to the Mokwa Patrol Team in Niger State and this unfortunate incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, 22nd February 2024 as reported by the complainant. Customs Collaborates DG TAXUD EU For Efficient Export Monitoring, Trade Facilitation

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has collaborated with the Directorate General Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) of the European Union (EU) for efficient export monitoring and trade facilitation. During a meeting that  at the Corporate Headquarters of NCS on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the Comptroller General of  Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, announced that the service is collaborating with DG TAXUD for efficiency in Export Monitoring and documentation. Capacity Development: NIMASA Delivers Institute of Marine and Transport Technology Building to The University of Port Harcourt

SEAFARERS' WELFARE: NIMASA, MWUN PARTNER ITF-UK FOR INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

NIMASA Innaugurate 8 Man Team Of ACTU

*  Makes 27 Seizures With Over N1.9b DPV Within A Month The Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘B’ of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), which  has remained resolute in making sure that smugglers and smuggling activities within the axis is brought to a standstill had made several seizures of 27 different items from the beginning of year 2024 to date. Senate Approves Customs N5.09 trn Revenue Target, N706.4bn Budget for 2024

Nigeria’s Senate has approved the sum of N5.079 trillion naira as a revenue target and N706.4 billion as budget for the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in the 2024 fiscal year. The approval follows consideration of a report presented by the Committee Chairman on Customs, Excise, and Tariff, Jibrin Isah (APC-Kogi), at the plenary on Thursday, 15th February 2024. Addressing the plenary, Isah highlighted personnel costs at N225.99 billion and overhead costs at N111.76 billion, representing 31.99 and 15.82 percent of the budget. "Also, ongoing capital projects stood at N148.42 billion while new projects, which represents 52.19 percent, earmarked for N220.26 billion," he said Providing a breakdown of the budget, he added that the timely rollout of the 2024 fiscal policy would enable the service to commence implementation promptly. Enhanced Trade Facilitation: NCS Consolidates on Technological Advancements

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has conveyed a steering committee meeting to consolidate the previous gains achieved in the implementation process of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Trade Modernization Project (TMP) aimed at enhancing trade facilitation. In a closed-door meeting held at the Customs Corporate Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, 15 February 2024, with members of the TMP Steering Committee, CGC Adeniyi disclosed that the project is geared towards the end-to-end automation of the processes and procedures of the NCS. NCS Debunks Allegations of Fraud Against E-Auction Process

The Nigeria Customs Service has debunked an allegations made against it's E-Auction committee by the National Association of Government Approved Freight forwarders (NAGAFF) 100% Compliance Team, saying such allegations is is entirely false, misguided, and spurious. NCS Collaborates With WASP For Enhanced Trade Security

The Nigeria Customs Service on Tuesday 13 February, 2024 initiated an engagement with the West Africa Security Project (WASP) to acquaint officers on security awareness for effective trade facilitation and effective border security. The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR while addressing the delegates of the West Africa Security Project during a meeting at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja, according to a statement from the National Public Relations Officer of the Service, CSC Abdullahi Maiwada, described the project as a medium that will benefit custom officers in the area of curbing smuggling and illegal trafficking of substances.
