The DG NIMASA Dr Bashir Jamoh OFR arrived London as part of Nigeria’s delegation to the 33rd session of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) General Assembly. Oyetola Restates FG's Commitment To Reposition NIgeria Maritime Sector

  The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola has restated the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to reposition the nation's maritime sector in line with its agenda for economic growth and development.   He disclosed that his ministry had already mapped out plans on how to revamp the maritime industry, noting that the plans covers areas such as security, marine environment management, climate action and human capital development.  The minister made the remarks on Monday while addressing member states of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) at the 33rd session of its General Assembly in London, according to statement released by his spokesperson, Ismail Omipidan.  This is even as the Secretary General of IMO, Kitack Lim, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating the new ministry, saying that the approach was futuristic and strategic. CGC Wale Adeniyi To Led NIPR’S Nigeria Reputation Management Group

  The Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR has been named the leader of the Nigeria Reputation and Management Group (NRMG) of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) The President of the Institute Ike Neliaku made this disclosure when he inaugurated the Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG) on 24 November 2023 in Abuja.   In his remarks, the NIPR President affirmed that the combination    of distinguished assembly of 23 members, marks a significant step towards fortifying Nigeria's global image. According to him, "The NRMG, born out of a commitment to enhancing Nigeria's reputation, has a multifaceted mandate. In addition to developing sustainable strategies and operational modalities, the group is tasked with identifying critical national assets and wielding influence over Nigeria's reputation”. FEDERAL GOVT MOVES TO REDUCE PRICE OF COOKING GAS 

  The high cost of cooking gas currently experiencing in the country may soon be a thing of the past if the Federal Government can implements its plans to resolve the challenges     bordering on the supply and pricing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPSG) in Nigeria’s Domestic Market. This was disclosed by the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, who said he waded into the issue following a rise in the price of LPG per kg from about N700 to above N1,100 in some parts of the country. Customs: Apapa Command Makes N11.3bn Outstanding Daily Collection … Generates N135bn in October 2023

  The Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service has achieved a landmark revenue collection feat with the generation of N11.3bn on November 22, 2023 thereby surpasssing the existing highest daily collection record of N10bn which was achieved on August 3, 2023. The Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Babajide Jaiyeoba, according to a press release signed by CSC Abubakar Usman, the  Customs Public Relations Officer of Apapa Command described the collection as a fallout of teamwork, system audit ,compliance and zero compromise, he further urged officers of the command to sustain the tempo of hard work. Comptroller Jaiyeoba said the command has been more focused on its mandate and collected N135bn for the month of October, which presently is the highest monthly collection in the history of the command.   Drug cartels operating within the nation's coastal waters and land borders has suffered a setback as the Nigeria Custom Service (NCS) hands over hard drugs and substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa and Tramadol to the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The handover ceremony occurred on Thursday, 23 November 2023, at the Customs Warehouse in Karu, Abuja. Ogun 1 Customs Command Generates Over N30.4M Seizes N399M Worth Of Contraband In October

NIMASA DG Hails Navy As Agency Hosts FOC Western Naval Command

  … Sets Up Standing Committee For Blue Economy    The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA Dr Bashir Jamoh OFR says collaboration with the Nigerian Navy has played a key role in the achievements of his Administration in terms of maritime security in Nigerian waters and the Gulf of Guinea.  The NIMASA DG stated this    when he received the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Mustapha Hasssan and a delegation of senior Naval officers in Lagos, Nigeria.
