NAGAFF Writes Tinubu, Seeks Hassan Bello’s Appointment As Transportation Minister … Applauds appointment of Adeniyi as Ag CGC

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has advised and encouraged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Barr. Hassan Bello as the Honourable Minister of Transportation.

NAGAFF in a letter dated July 14, 2023 and signed by Chief Patrick Ogbo, Senior Special Assistant to the Founder of NAGAFF, Dr Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam said it was making the request from its vantage position and eye witness account, the exploit and competencies of Barr. Hassan Bello during his tenure as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC.

Parts of the letter reads “Barr. Hassan Bello was strictly professional, principled and courageous in taking informed decisions. He was a team player and expert in public/partnership which is key in modern day administration. We, therefore, wish to encourage President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to call up his secret file to check his record for possible consideration. This is one of our various efforts to assist Mr. President in his drive to reinvent and reposition our potentially great nation towards the path of progress and economic growth.

Continuing NAGAFF said “We want to thank and appreciate Mr. President for his various hard decisions so far to right the wrongs in our country. Even though our political wing, the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP was not able to make it to the position of President under Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s candidacy, we believe that tomorrow is another day. Without prejudice to the cases in court, Senator Bola Tinubu is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Therefore, let all Nigerians support him and be ready to make sacrifices to be able to achieve our collective vision of a new Nigeria of our dreams”,

The association in the same vain, advised the President to run an inclusive administration, respect the principles of separation of power, tackle insecurity and corruption headlong, invest in education and information technology, agriculture and international relations among others.

NAGAFF in the letter, also hoped that Mr. President would undertake the internal audit of the alleged oil subsidy scam and mandate those found culpable to return their loots to the Nigerian government. “It is our hope and belief that Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser to the President shall do a diligent work in this regard “, it further stated.

NAGAFF further said that this is the time for everyone to work hard and make sacrifices for Nigeria adding that one of the greatest mistakes common to the past administrations lied in their inability to communicate with the people.

“The Information Ministry of the government and other associated bodies must keep the Nigerian people informed of the government’s efforts, difficulties and challenges, prospects and hope of a better future. In doing so, the greater number of Nigerians will know and be able to evaluate government efforts and prospects under the new dispensation”, NAGAFF said.

It went further to applaud the appointment of a career officer of the Nigeria Customs Service in the person of Mr. Adewale Bashir Adeniyi as the Acting Comptroller General of Customs describing it as the most appropriate and wise decision taken for the betterment of the Nigeria Customs Service and Nigeria in general, saying, “We noted the happiness and smiles on the faces of the Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service at the pronouncement of their colleague to the exalted position, this indeed, has assured the officers of the service of the hope to reach the highest position in their chosen career”.
