The Lagos Free Trade Zone command of the Nigeria Customs Service NCS within the first half of year 2026, generated the sum of N408.869 billion, (Four Hundred and Eight billion, Eight hundred and sixty nine naira) only. The Customs Area Controller (CAC), of the command, Comptroller (Mrs) Hauwa Abubakar announced this today, Thursday 2nd of July 2026 while briefing newsmen at the commands. She said the figure represents an increase of N91,546, 402,785.69k as against the sum of N317,322,735,712.06k generated in the corresponding period of last year, amounting to an impressive 28.85 percent increase in revenue. The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) have agreed to deepen their collaboration in order to improve ease of doing business, address persistent congestion along the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports corridors and accelerate cargo evacuation. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) today, Wednesday 1st of July 2026 displayed seized expired pharmaceutical products and narcotics worth ₦53.3bn at the Apapa Area Command which were subsequently handed over to the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
