  ‎ ‎ The Kano/Jigawa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), says it intercepted various smuggled goods with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of over N1.01 billion between January 1 and March 10, 2026. ‎According to reports gathered, the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Command, Deputy Comptroller UU Adamu disclosed this on Tuesday during his maiden press briefing held at the Customs House in Bompai, Kano. ‎He said the seizures were made through intelligence-driven operations, coordinated patrols and strategic surveillance across major routes and border corridors in Kano and Jigawa states. ‎The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has celebrated the retirement of one of its senior officers, Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG)  Dera Nnadi (Rtd), marking the end of a distinguished career dedicated to national service and institutional development. ‎ ‎The colourful ceremony, held on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, at the Service Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, brought together members of the NCS management team, senior officers, family members and well-wishers to honour the retiring officer’s impactful career.
