In its war against wildlife trafficking and protection, o peratives of the Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a lion cub and two patas monkeys being smuggled along the Gbaji, Badagry- Seme highway. According a statement from the command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs CSC Isah Sulaiman, the interception occured on Sunday, 16 November 2025, at about 0219hrs, during a stop-and-search operation at Gbaji. The statement said operatives of the command had intercepted a blue Mazda vehicle with registration number MUS 743 HA and upon inspection discovered the endangered species being transported in the vehicle in clear violation of national and international wildlife protection laws. Troops of 25 Task Force  Brigade, on routine patrol to secure communities around Wajiroko in Azir Multe, Damboa LGA of Borno State, came under a sudden and heavy insurgents fire while returning from a successful patrol within the fringes of Sambisa Forest. The Port And Terminals MultiServices Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has seized a huge cocaine shipment valued at ₦29.4 bn in Lagos. The consignment which was handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) by the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the command, Comptroller Joe Anani on Tuesday, 11th November 2025. Speaking during the handover ceremony at the command's headquarters, Comptroller Anani disclosed that the operatives of the Command had noticed suspicious packages in one of about 39 empty containers meant for export loading and decided to investigate the content where the hard drugs were found. He identified the 1x20ft container with number GCNU1332851 which was from Freetown, Sierra Leone on October 7, 2025. The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has launched the Electronic Cargo Tracking System (ECTS), a digital innovation aimed at enhancing national security, boosting revenue generation, and facilitating seamless trade across Nigeria’s ports.  The pilot phase of the initiative was conducted using a container designated for the Kano/Jigawa Area Command on 5th November, 2025 marking the first practical deployment of the technology in real-time cargo monitoring. The Nigerian Navy has appointed Rear Admiral Suleiman Dantsoho Ibrahim as the new Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Central Naval Command (CNC), Yenagoa, following the formal handover from Rear Admiral Ahmed Gaya.
