KLT COMMAND CELEBRATES ACG EJ EDELDUOK AS SHE ASSUMES HIGHER NATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY


The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service on Monday, 1st December 2025, held a colourful and well-attended send forth ceremony in honour of Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, E J Edelduok, following her recent appointment into the management team of the Service.


‎The event, according to a Press Release issued by the command's Public Relations Officer,  Chief Superintendent of Customs    CSC VU Ogagbor, took place at the Command Headquarters in Kirikiri drew dignitaries including senior Customs officers, representatives of sister agencies, key stakeholders in the maritime industry, as well as friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate a transformational leader.


‎In her welcome remarks, Deputy Comptroller Adedokun described the celebrant as a disciplined administrator, a thorough professional and a leader who leaves behind a legacy of improved operational efficiency and strengthened stakeholder collaboration within the Command.

‎During her tenure as Customs Area Controller of KLT Command, ACG Edelduok was widely recognised for enhancing cargo clearance procedures, fostering strategic partnerships in the oil and gas sector, and prioritising staff capacity development and welfare.

‎Everyone who delivered goodwill messages praised her outstanding leadership style, which they said combined firmness with empathy and consistently produced notable progress for the Command. They noted that the Service was gaining a visionary officer at the management level and expressed confidence that she would excel in her new appointment.

‎A citation presented in her honour highlighted her career accomplishments, including years of dedicated service spanning multiple strategic responsibilities within the Nigeria Customs Service.


‎In her remarks, ACG Edelduok expressed deep appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs and the entire management team for the confidence reposed in her. She thanked officers and stakeholders of KLT Command for their support, noting that every success recorded under her leadership was achieved through teamwork, professionalism and shared commitment to national development.


‎She pledged to continue serving with diligence, integrity and passion in her new role to advance the objectives of the Service and enhance trade facilitation in line with global standards.

‎The ceremony featured the cutting of a send forth cake, group photographs and an atmosphere of celebration as attendees honoured what many described as a sterling career devoted to excellence and service.

‎As ACG Edelduok departs for her new assignment, officers and stakeholders of KLT Command say they remain inspired by her leadership example and confident that she will continue to excel and bring pride to the Nigeria Customs Service.

Breaking News: CBN Ordered To Immediately Suspend Enforcement Of Cuber-Security Levy

Hon. Tajudeen Abbass Speaker of the House of Representatives   The House of Representatives has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to immediately suspend the enforcement of the controversial cybersecurity levy. The House took this decision following a motion raised by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda on behalf of all members. The House had expressed concern that the circular issued by the CBN could be misunderstood by Nigerians, it however, noted that the directive does not align with the principles outlined in section 44(2a) of the cybercrime Act regarding the recipients responsible for paying the levy. The House urged the CBN to promptly retract its previous circular regarding the levy’s enforcement and instead publish a new circular aligned with the Act’s provisions. The cybersecurity levy was introduced by CBN through a circular to all banks on May 6, 2024, in accordance with the stipulations of the cybercrime Act.
