PORT HARCOURT II AREA COMMAND IN HISTORIC RECORD OF N76.07B REVENUE IN OCTOBER 2025


The Port Harcourt II Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has achieved a landmark milestone with a record-breaking revenue collection of N76, 075, 447, 369. 83 in October 2025. This achievement marks the highest monthly revenue in the Command’s history, highlighting the impact of decisive leadership and unified collaboration within the Command.


This record-breaking performance is attributed to the deliberate and conscious stakeholder engagement championed by the Customers Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Aliyu M Alkali. This was achieved through the ongoing dialogue with stakeholders and consistent engagement with unit heads, emphasizing the importance of facilitating legitimate trade, compliance and adding value to the Command’s operations. These initiatives have significantly contributed to the improved revenue performance.


This exceptional performance according to a press release by the Image Maker of the command, CSC Theophilus P Duniya, underscores Comptroller Alkali’s unwavering commitment to national economic growth through effective revenue generation, enforcement of compliance with international trade regulations and facilitating legitimate trade.


Furthermore, the Customs Area Controller strategically deployed officers to their current beats based on operational needs, ensuring optimal resource allocation and efficiency across the Command. This proactive measure has enhanced the Command’s capacity to meet and exceed its monthly revenue targets.


Comptroller Alkali, expressed his gratitude to all the port’s stakeholders, importers and licenced agents and all the officers and men of the Command for their patriotism, synergy, and commitment to working together towards this historic achievement. He encouraged all stakeholders to sustain this momentum and strive for even greater accomplishments in the coming months.


He stated, “This milestone is a testament to what we can achieve through effective teamwork, and dedication to national development. We shall continue to strengthen our system to sustain this momentum".

Breaking News: CBN Ordered To Immediately Suspend Enforcement Of Cuber-Security Levy

Hon. Tajudeen Abbass Speaker of the House of Representatives   The House of Representatives has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to immediately suspend the enforcement of the controversial cybersecurity levy. The House took this decision following a motion raised by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda on behalf of all members. The House had expressed concern that the circular issued by the CBN could be misunderstood by Nigerians, it however, noted that the directive does not align with the principles outlined in section 44(2a) of the cybercrime Act regarding the recipients responsible for paying the levy. The House urged the CBN to promptly retract its previous circular regarding the levy’s enforcement and instead publish a new circular aligned with the Act’s provisions. The cybersecurity levy was introduced by CBN through a circular to all banks on May 6, 2024, in accordance with the stipulations of the cybercrime Act.
