Comptroller Gambo Aliyu Reaffirms Commitment to Inter-Agency Cooperation


The Customs Area Controller (CAC) in charge of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, Comptroller Gambo Aliyu, has pledged stronger collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Oyo State, describing inter-agency cooperation as critical to national security and public safety.


According to a statement released issued recently by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Akintola Abdulmalik, Comptroller Aliyu, accompanied by his management team, paid courtesy visits to the offices of both agencies in Ibadan.



At the DSS office, the CAC was received by the State Director, Rahim Adelakun. Comptroller Aliyu commended the DSS for its unwavering dedication to protecting lives and property, noting that its tireless efforts continue to safeguard peace, stability, and socio-economic growth.



The CAC later visited the FRSC headquarters in the state and was welcomed by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Rosemary Alo. Where the Comptroller lauded the Corps’ commitment to road safety enforcement and public enlightenment. "The Corps' sustained advocacy has significantly reduced road accidents in the state". He stated.



“No government agency can function effectively in isolation; We must continue to support one another because inter-agency synergy is the foundation of national progress”, the CAC remarked.


In their goodwill messages, both the DSS and FRSC leadership assured Comptroller Aliyu of their readiness to strengthen existing partnerships with the Nigeria Customs Service for the collective good of the nation.

Breaking News: CBN Ordered To Immediately Suspend Enforcement Of Cuber-Security Levy

Hon. Tajudeen Abbass Speaker of the House of Representatives   The House of Representatives has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to immediately suspend the enforcement of the controversial cybersecurity levy. The House took this decision following a motion raised by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda on behalf of all members. The House had expressed concern that the circular issued by the CBN could be misunderstood by Nigerians, it however, noted that the directive does not align with the principles outlined in section 44(2a) of the cybercrime Act regarding the recipients responsible for paying the levy. The House urged the CBN to promptly retract its previous circular regarding the levy’s enforcement and instead publish a new circular aligned with the Act’s provisions. The cybersecurity levy was introduced by CBN through a circular to all banks on May 6, 2024, in accordance with the stipulations of the cybercrime Act.
