Compt. Tillygyado Takes Over Leadership of KLT Command …To Implore SWOT Strategy In Her Administration


 The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command of the Nigeria Customs Service now has Comptroller Martina TillyGyado as the Controller.


The new controller, yesterday, Friday 15th September at the command’s conference hall was handed over the mantle of leadership of the command by her predecessor, Comptroller Timi Bomodi who by the recent postings in the NCS management was redeployed to the Seme Command. 


While speaking at the handing over ceremony, Compt TillyGbado stated that her leadership would adopt emotional intelligence strategies and apply Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) strategies in addressing matters of revenue collection, anti-smuggling, trade facilitation, and robust stakeholder engagement to improve compliance.

She further explained, “I am here to deploy emotional intelligence, which comprises teamwork, interpersonal relationships, and knowledge of the environment”.

She also emphasized that her doors are open to criticism and that she is willing to accommodate even negative criticism as long as it benefits the Command. 



 Earlier, the outgoing Controller, Compt. Bomodi in his address disclosed that the command under his watch (January to 15th September, 2023) generated the sum N36.93 Billion, representing a 22.44% increase when compared to the sum of N30.16 Billion generated during the same period of 2022, representing a 59.37% of the command’s revenue of N62.2billion target for the year 2023.



He noted the commitment and cooperation of other sister agencies and stakeholders which led to the repair of the very bad access road leading into the Command, while decrying the low exploitation of the potentials of the Command saying that less than 10% of the facilities of the Command is currently put  to use.

Compt Bomodi informed that the command has been able to achieve a 48 hours clearing time which is in line with the trade facilitation policy of the Nigeria  Customs Service.


While appreciating the Officers and Men and stakeholders for their professionalism, discipline, and the massive support accorded him while in at the command, he urged them to accord the incoming controller more to anable her surpass his achievement.


Compt. TillyGbado thanked God and the Acting Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for finding her worthy for the appointment and promised to meet management’s expectations.

NIMASA Reshuffles Management Team For Enhanced Efficiency And Inter-departmental Collaboration
