CSR: MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION COMMISSIONS NIMASA SKILL ACQUISITION CENTRE AND TWIN LECTURE THEATRE IN KADUNA.

The outgoing Honorable Minister of Transportation, Engineer Mu’azu Jaji Sambo over the weekend commissioned the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Skill Acquisition Centre in Zaria Kaduna State and a twin lecture theater donated by the Agency to Kaduna State University.    The skill acquisition centre located in Zaria has facilities such as Electrical, Mechanical, Sewing, Technical, and Welding learning facilities amongst others for youths and women. Speaking at the event, the Minister noted that these projects are part of the legacies of the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari to improve education as a basic need for economic development he used the opportunity to commend the Dr. Jamoh led Management of the agency for the initiative. JBPT Seizes Rice, Petrol, Others Worth N327m In South West

The Joint Border Patrol Team, Sector 2, South West Zone of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the impoundment of a total of 11,419 smuggled items worth N327,639,400 between April 12 to May 26, 2023. Coordinator of the team, Comptroller Mohammed Nasir Usman who made this known during a media briefing on Friday at the Customs Training College, Ikeja, said that it also made auction of seized items to the tune of N6,789,500. Breakdown of the seizures are 5,883 (50kg) bags of imported foreign parboiled rice; 3,580 (30litres) Jerry cans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS); 45 cars and two motorcycles used as means of conveyances. Others on the seizure list are, 61 pieces of used tyres; 10 sacks of Cannabis Sativa; 14 sacks of leather bags; eight bales of Secondhand clothing; five imported fairly used cars; one Dane gun and and one live ammunition. TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY BIDS FAREWELL TO MINISTERS

The Ministry of Transportation held a valedictory session for its ministers, Engr Mu’azu Jaji Sambo and the Minister of State, Prince Ademola Adewole Adegoroye in Abuja the nation’s capital as both the ministers ends their administrations of the ministry along with the President Mohammadu Bihari’s administration.   While speaking at the event,  Sambo urged the ministry not to forget the Legacy Projects in the inland waterways. Dangote Refinery Will Save Nigeria $30bn Forex, $10bn Additional Inflows – CBN Governor

The Central Bank Governor,     Mr. Godwin Emefiele has     said the newly commissioned Dangote Petroleum Refinery will save Nigeria $30billion foreign exchange and additional $10billion inflows. The refinery was commissioned on Monday by President Mohammadu Buhari was built at the cost of $18.5 billion by Dangote Group. Emefiele said among the benefits of the refinery which product will hit the country in July is that it will save Nigeria between $25 billion to $30 billion yearly. He also announced the Dangote Group has repaid 70 percent of the loans obtained for the project. Sambo Commissions Refurbished Enforcement Boats, Others For NIMASA As He Prepares To Leave Office

As the APC led administration of President Mohammadu Buhari prepares for hand over, the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Engr Mua’zu Jaji Sambo has led other dignitaries in the Maritime and transportation sector in the country to commission refurbished Enforcement Boats and other projects to enhance the operations of the Deep Blue Sea project of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) at its 57th regular meeting chaired by the Honorable Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed has confirmed the appointment of five (5) Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs) and fifteen (15) Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs). Customs Partners with JICA to Enhance Trade Facilitation in Africa

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the World Customs Organisation (WCO) has revealed plans to synergize on trade facilitation and other Customs-related processes and procedures. The organizations disclosed this during a recent visit to the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters in Abuja Yutaro Oda, one of the speakers at the meeting, harped on the promotion of One-Stop Border Posts, he highlighted how this would aid in revenue generation and trade facilitation for the Service as well as enhance the movement of goods and services across the African Continent. Airport Command Generates Over N21.3B … Intercepts N1.8B Worth of Tramadol

The Murtala Muhammed Airport Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has raked in over N21.3 billion in the first quarter of the year 2023. The Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Sani Muhammed Yusuf , while  briefing Journalists yesterday, said this is a marked difference from the more than N17.5b it generated in same period of last year.  In his words, “This shows a progressive difference of three billion, eight hundred and forty-nine million, two hundred and ninety-four thousand, eight hundred and seven naira, twenty-two kobo, depicting a 21.97 per cent increase”. The Customs Area Controller disclosed that the revenue activities of the Command comprises of importation and exportation of legitimate trade.  In the area of anti smuggling, Compt.
