The honourable Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, has stated that Maritime Workers are vital not only to the maritime industry but to  Nigeria's economy as a whole.  The Minister stated this when the President, Maritime Workers' Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, led his Executive Council on a courtesy visit to the minister in Abuja recently. He stated that his tenure is short and would require their support, advice and guidance to enable him leave legacy projects before his tenure terminates on May 29, 2023. The Federal Government Government is considering unbundling the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in order to enhance efficient and effective service delivery.       The Minister of Transportation, Mu'azu Jaji Sambo,  made this  disclosure recently in Abuja when members of the NRC Governing Board paid him a courtesy visit.    According to him, "the Nigerian Railway Corporation cannot be the  Owner, Operator and Regulator at the same time, pointing out that,  The private sector is the engine of growth; Let someone else operate  your lines  efficiently. The Co mptroller General Strike Force of the Nigeria Customs Service in Zone ‘A’ has disclosed that it intercepted smuggled items worth N390,198,000. The unit also generated N748,679,337 as revenue within the period under review.
