NIMASA Boss Dedicates National Honour To Maritime Stakeholders

Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr Bashir Jamoh OFR, receiving his medallion as Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) from President Muhammadu Buhari. Maritime Workers Critical To Nation's Economy - Sambo

The honourable Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, has stated that Maritime Workers are vital not only to the maritime industry but to  Nigeria's economy as a whole.  The Minister stated this when the President, Maritime Workers' Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, led his Executive Council on a courtesy visit to the minister in Abuja recently. He stated that his tenure is short and would require their support, advice and guidance to enable him leave legacy projects before his tenure terminates on May 29, 2023. FG PLANS TO UNBUNDLE NRC FOR BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY

The Federal Government Government is considering unbundling the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in order to enhance efficient and effective service delivery.       The Minister of Transportation, Mu'azu Jaji Sambo,  made this  disclosure recently in Abuja when members of the NRC Governing Board paid him a courtesy visit.    According to him, "the Nigerian Railway Corporation cannot be the  Owner, Operator and Regulator at the same time, pointing out that,  The private sector is the engine of growth; Let someone else operate  your lines  efficiently. Customs Strike Force ‘A’ Intercepts 3,525 Litres of Fuel, Others Goods Worth N390Million

The Co mptroller General Strike Force of the Nigeria Customs Service in Zone ‘A’ has disclosed that it intercepted smuggled items worth N390,198,000. The unit also generated N748,679,337 as revenue within the period under review. Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, Coordinator of the Strike Force, Mohammed Sani Yusuf gave a breakdown of the seized items to include; a pump action riffle, locally fabricated pistol, cartridges, 1500 x 50kg bags of Foreign Parboiled Rice, 839 bales of Used Clothes, 3,525 litres of Premium Motor Spirit and 900 bags of Cement; used to conceal rice. “You may recall that foreign tomato paste, used clothing, importation of vehicles through the land borders, used tyres, arms and ammunition without end-user certificates among others, are all import prohibition which threatens our collective economy. NIMASA DG Calls On Maritime Nations To Actualize Adoption of Modern Technology To Attain Greener Shipping

ICC CALLS FOR COLLABORATION WITH NSC TO AID TRADE FACILITATION

CIoTA PRESIDENT JOINS THE LEAGUE OF OFRs

The President of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration (CIoTA) who is also the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr Bashir Jamoh has joined the league of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) in Nigeria.
