NDLEA Bursts Into Meth Manufacturing Syndicates Recovers 258.74kg Meth, Precursor Chemicals

The Nati onal Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) has busted and dismantled two laboratories in Lagos and Anambra state where dangerous illicit drug, crystal methamphetamine, called Mkpuru Mmiri in local parlance, were produced. The Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd) disclosed this on Tuesday, 2nd August 2022 while addressing the media in Abuja. Maritime Research and Training: NIMASA, NITT Sign MoU

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, on research and training towards enhancing maritime safety and security in Nigeria. According to a press release signed by  Osagie Edward, Assistant Director, Public Relations, NIMASA, T he Director General NIMASA, Dr Bashir Jamoh and his NITT counterpart, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah signed the MoU  over the weekend in Zaria. Strike Force 'A' Seizes Contraband Worth Over N7 billion in Six Months

The C omptroller General of Customs Strike Force Team, Zone ‘A’, has within the first half of year 2022 made seizures with Duty Paid Value of Seven Billion, Four Hundred and Thirty Two Million, Five hundred and ninety two Thousand, Seventy Five naira. The seizures included 8,000 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50kg each, equivalent to 13 trucks, 1x40ft container of Tramadol, Sildenafil citrate, 1613 bottles of 100ml Codeine, 1079 bales of secondhand clothing, 3,695 pieces of used tyres, 966 slabs of Donkey skin, 77,760 pairs of new Ladies shoes, 5,250 pairs of used shoes and 197 logs of wood. NIMASA Board Approves Appointment Of 3 New Directors And Promotion of 469 Others ...As Jamoh Charge Them To Rededicate Themselves To NIMASA Core Mandates

  The Governing Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has approved the appointment of three new Directors for the agency, they are, Mr. Otonye Obom, Captain Umoren Sunday Michael, and Mr. Kazir Abubakar Musa. The  Directors were promoted along with Eighteen Deputy Directors and Twenty Assistant Directors.  Four hundred and  Thirty-One  other staff were elevated to their next grade levels. NIMASA Board Approves Promotion/ Ratification of 519 Staff

The G overning Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), has approved and ratified the promotion of 519 (five hundred and nineteen) members of staff of the agency for year 2022. TinCan Customs Command Generates N274.32bn In Six Monthsgf

The TinCan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has generated N274.32 billion between January and June 2022, which represents a 27.50 percent increase when compared with N229.32 billion collected in the corresponding period of 2021. The Command’s Area Controller, Comptroller kunle Oloyede disclosed this on Friday while briefing Journalists on activities of the command January to June 2022. Within the period under review, Compt. Oloyede revealed that enforcement and anti –smuggling activities of the command received a boost under his supervision resulting in seizures, arrests and detentions of offending imports with a Duty Paid Value of the total seizures amounted N1, 301,901,685.12. Breakdown of the seizures include 145kg of Colorado, concealed in two units of Ridgeline trucks and two units of Toyota Corolla vehicles, 206,000 pieces of machetes, 640 bales of used clothes, 236,500 pieces of used shoes and 62,500 pieces of new lady’s shoes. NSC Reaffirmed As Port Economic Regulator

T he Nigerian Shippers' Council, (NSC) has been reaffirmed as the only  Ports Economic Regulator in the country.  The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Dr Magdalene Ajani,  on Friday in Lagos,  made this pronouncement at the sensitisation seminar jointly organised by the Federal Ministry of Transport and the Nigerian Shippers Council with the theme: “Promoting Competitiveness in the Maritime Industry: The Mandate of Nigerian Shippers’ Council". She noted that the Federal Government in 2015 declared the council as the port economic regulator. Ajani said that as the port economic regulator, NSC was saddled with the responsibility to institute effective regulation at ports, working with other government agencies. Apapa Command Intercepts Container Load Of Tramadol, Hands Over To NDLEA

The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service on Friday announced the interception of a 20 foot container  imported from Pakistan,  l oaded with 150 Cartons of Tramadol which is  valued at N6 billion.   The Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Yusuf Ibrahim Malanta while speaking to Journalists on the seizure said the drugs were concealed carefully with towels but through a  Forensic Manifest Management System and the vigilance of customs officers of the command, the drugs  were detected.
