NIMASA DG COMMISERATES WITH EL-RUFAI ON RECENT ATTACKS IN KADUNA

The Director General of thr Nigrrian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir  Jamoh  has commiserated with Mallam Nadir elm ruts  and the Kaduna State government over the recent attacks involving Abuja - Kaduna Train service and the invasion of the Kaduna Airport leading to death, injury and abduction of unspecified number of passengers.    In a letter to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Dr. Jamoh who expressed shock over the incidents, while sending his condolences to the families of the deceased and the entire good people of Kaduna State.    "May Allah (SWT) be with you at this trying time and crown your efforts to bring peace, progress and prosperity to Kaduna State with immense success". Customs Impounds Drones, Military Wares, Pharmaceuticals

The Nigeria  Customs Service has handed over 679 sets of drones and 638 packets of military wares which it intercepted to the Nigerian Army in Lagos. While the value of the drones and military wares were put at N379,203,818.00 million the value of the different brands of illicit pharmaceuticals were put at N2.824 billion. The illicit drugs were said to have been imported into the country from India, Hong Kong, and Dubai and bearing different waybills and different names. The owners of the seized items are currently on the run. However, efforts are on to apprehend owners of the illicit drugs as well as the drones and military wares. BARGE OPERATION CRITICAL FOR REDUCTION OF GRIDLOCKS ON PORT ACCESS ROADS – NIMASA DG

  The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh noted that a well-regulated barge operating industry in the maritime sector is critical to ending gridlocks on ports access roads in Nigeria. The NIMASA DG stated this when he played host to the Barge Operators Association of Nigeria (BOAN) led by the President, Hon. Bunmi Olumekun at the head office of the Agency in Lagos. “Barge operations have helped to reduce gridlocks in Apapa, as they are involved with the transportation of container goods from one point to another within the inland waters, thereby putting less pressure on our roads, while also contributing their quota to national economic development”, Jamoh remarked. SON Ranks Best Governments Agency In PEBEC Transparency Efficiency In Business Environment Report

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has been ranked as the foremost government agency in facilitating the promotion of transparency and efficiency in the business environment. According to the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), the ranking is contained in the PEBEC 2020/2021 Business Made Easy Report and the 2021 Executive Order 1 compliance report published recently. Soludo Raises Alarm On Financial Status Of Anambra State

The newly sworn -in Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo who was newly sworn- in has raised an alarm over that financial status of the state which he described as being in "bad shape". Speaking during  Arise TV Morning Show  on Tuesday, Soludo claimed his predecessor, Willie Obiano, had left behind a paltry sum of between N300 and N400 million in the state coffers. Lekki Seaport To Promote Healthy Competition Among Terminal Operators

The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello-Koko has said the Lekki Deep Seaport will drive competition among terminal operators in the country's maritime sector. Speaking with journalists at the tour of the Lekki Port by President Muhammadu Buhari, Bello-Koko, said the Port on operation will create competition and compel other terminal operators to double their efforts by reducing cargo dwell time at their terminals. According to him, the Lekki Deep Seaport, which has been under construction for years, would be ready for test run in September, 2022, after which the first commercial vessel can be received at the port. NPA Commited To Elimination Of Systemic Corruption at Ports

The zone A, strike force unit of the Nigeria customs service (NCS) has intercepted eight truck load of foreign parboiled rice smuggled into the country and other offending goods worth over #373M. The seizures, which were announced by the new South West Zonal Coordinator of the unit, Deputy Comptroller Mohammed Sani Yusuf at his maiden press briefing in Lagos comprises of 3 units of 20ft containers load of Timber worth N177,725,200 ; 1000 units of 50kg bags of rice valued at N43,282,000; 3,143 pieces of used tyres worth N75,432,000 and 320 bales of used clothes worth N33,876,000. Other seizures includes 663 sacks of shoes worth N37,846,000; 44 sacks of donkey skin valued at N2,425,000 and 137kg of Cannabis Sativa valued at N13,043,000. Looking at the performance and activities of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) under Dr. Bashir Jamoh led administration, it can rightly be said that his appointment was not done in error. The meeting which is held at the border of Belarus is aimed at putting a stop to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
